Is this bike that special or am I just missing something ? $635.00 is the current bid Sure the cranks are nice, is the frame and fork that desireable ?

i don't get it either.....
DMG
All original PL-20, are yuo kidding me? That is a sweet piece of history. No changes, no re-powder or re-chrome. Nothing restored! As it was in 1983 or so. The rear tire isn't stock and the pedals a seat have some wear, but still a sweet original. not many OG bike left...........
dwk
Those pads seem to bring a lot of money too.
Spicoli
awesome bike, totaly worth the 635, will probably go a couple hun more...ya, big money for those pads and cranks alone.
DMG
Pads and cranks ....... smads and angst.

Buy that baby clean her up and leave as is. A great example of the way it was, not the way we wanted it to be..........
Haro#7
We'll yeah it is almost all original and the condition is not to bad from what I can see .... ohh yeah , check it's location and MY location also ...yeah I went to go see it in person. So back to what was said, yes its all original but $635 ???
Spicoli
I hear ya DMG, I'd leave that bike just how it is...but you know, this is the freestyle board lol...and someone is thinkin about how killer those cranks would look on there Haro Freestyler...
Haro#7
SPICOLI . HA HA HA Just in case my Haro is already done .... I was thinking more for my Skyway TA but no way I'll go $630 for just cranks.
mr coasterbrake
i was looking at that. might bid, depending on how high it goes. if i end up with it, the cranks will be for sale (it would get 401s).
Pauly
Hells yeah that's a nice bike. $635 easy. A redline fluted seatpost sold for $120 by itself last week. Add the parts up that would cost well over a grand to put together.

edit: just curious but why did you post this in the freestyle forum?

Well Paulie , sorry for the off topic post but this is where I usually hang out.

That bike was one of the best factory built BMXers out at the time! To find one all original in that kind of shape is very rare. Hutch prostars were more exotic but the geometry and the ruggedness of the PL 20s were second to none. I would NOT change a thing on that bike, it is a time capsule.

It's 'cause it's so fast. This picture shows how fast it is just standing there!

serva
man....that thing is crazy fast! if it was moving, it would probably be impossible to see!
agentheinz
WWWHHSSSHHHHEEEEWWWW!!! Whoa, did ya see that?

It's high for being so early in the game, but it's a survivor with most of its original gear still there, and not too badly thrashed. It's worth some scratch for sure.
FreeEnterprise
Whoa! That thing is really fast...

I bet if you bought it you'd win your first race for sure.

(as long as they saw you cross the finish line...)

I thought that REDLINE only made those non-pinch flites for one year and they where pretty rare and pricey? I thought they were made earlier than 1983 too (scratching head with left hand and butt with right)?
hutchheaven
The pricey cranks are the original splined non pinch flight crank. The 400 were budget version.

That bike is easily worth over $600!!!!IMO!!!!Those SUNTOUR hubs ROCK,the 400's look sweet and don't forget how much it costa to get a 5" ht fork like that!Plus an all original survivor!!!!MR. CB leave the cranks if you get it.They came factory like that and it survided all these years all ready.Just get a set of knarler knobbys (sp) and it is ready to show!
hutchheaven
Oh yeah and trash the grips if you win her!!!!!LOL!!!!!
