so phase 3 is now complete, my faux 80's shop is to the point where im happy with it. eventually i will get the right side wall finished up, but now i have more important things to do...(a daughter on the way and a BBQ bash to host).
the name came from my wifes registered company of srocket rock ind. which will be putting out instructional music lesson books and cd's for children. its only proper that i change the words around to work for a bike shop name.

these three pics are ready to be photoshopped together if anyone cares to do it.
pic 1, the bike rack. notice the new use of lighting below the top tier and the kinda haro-ish green on the walls. and the reason for no paint under ther rack is to keep it bright under there.

pic 2, repainted back wall with haro shelves and re organized tool box and storage area......nice showcases.

pic 3, the unfinished work and play section. kinda gives it class looking at it that way.... oh yeah, part of my decal collection on the wall. (do i see a new build on the bench?)

well?

You better put in a video security system. You know how a lot of people got parts in the 80's...
jimmyB
what exactly am I looking at?

if I understand this correctly you have made a 'stage set' 80's period shop in your garage/basement?

...why?
Bedlam Bikes
.....why???? Are you kidding?

Because it completes any great vintage bmx collection!

If you have the room, there is NO better way to display your artifacts.
OLDSKOOLPK
Jimmy B,

Replace your radio/stereo with an '80s boom box complete with stickers on the speakers.
Guav
Forget about Photoshopping them together, wait til I get up there with the wide angle lens—I can get the whole shop in one pic
Jeff S
Wow Brian, you got a lot done this weekend! Nice job. I'll come by this week and check it out. This past weekend was not good. Lets ride one night this week. Maybe tomorrow?

probably one of the coolest garages "um bike shops" on the planet

I'd get a old-skool ghetto blaster "like TTT said", and maybe hang a bike or 2 from some fishing line (I still have visions of my lbs having a Team Master floating in the middle of the shop)...

some 80s movie posters could really set it off too...RAD, ET, BMX Bandits etc...

a old-skool board display would be the shiznit also. and how bout some bunks so that the crew has somewere to crash...or when your wife doesnt let you back in the house because you spend to much time in the shop...

Awesome

vision becomes reality--nice work!
Todd Costantino
Um. . . Like, do you have a lay-a-way?

Damn!
Analogkid60
Sick, Brother! Nice work.
punkndisorderly
Very, very cool. What's sad is your "faux" bike shop is actually better than my local "real" shop ever was. That has to be the coolest rec room I've ever seen.

I second the vintage board display. Maybe a TV running old school vids.
punkndisorderly
Wow. Stereo, microwave, fridge. Add a bed and you could stay down there for weeks (of course after a few days you'd smell so bad, the wife wouldn't let you back in the house).
Bedlam Bikes
Brian,

Where's some of your other bikes? I dont see the Trick Star or the black/lav Street Beat.
Some of your framesets are also missing.

Are you hiding something from us?
oldschoolrider88
KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!

how about some close up shots of the goodies in the showcases?
Maplebar

BRILLIANT!!!

The shop ala' photoshop*:

* I've pasted this together really, really quickly - Things don't quite quite line up, but it's still waaaaaaay cooler than my basement will ever be!

Maplebar
It looks like someone beat me to it. Here is another attempt.

Jarvi
I'm speechless. Actually, no I'm not. Perhaps have an area for a bike of the week display, just so each one gets the so-called 15 minutes of fame.
donvader
That's sooooo cool!!!!!!!!! Better than any bike shop out there.
oldfreestyler
Man, That is just too cool! I would never go in the house again!...never!...lol. I could stare at those cases for hours, lol. I wonder how everything would look under a blacklight? ...Very cool Brian.
jay47
Brian , Brilliant !!!!! Love it , I'm hoping to convert part of my garage next year and do a similar thing , only smaller and totally HARO ........

So Brian , when is the SALE 75% OFF EVERYTHING MUST GO..........lol

Great job Brian......
CMD-Z
Okaaaay, we can skip my Photoshop effort and continue on over to Maplebar's much better effort.

As you were, carry on, and all that.

I showed your "shop" to my buddy who owns a bike shop down here. His comments:

"Man, that guy has more stuff than I do!"

"There's two kinds of people, those that get it and those who don't". We got it. Two friends/customers who happened to be in the shop didn't.
skyway72
I've been away for awhile... seems there is alot of catching up to do. Several guys have left us.
Anyway, awsome shop!!! Unfortanetly, my screen has beer on it know from Bedlams first post.
Rubbing one off..... classic
jerry a hutcher
yea jeff every thing *** out ok?( lol your a ill boy)
Brian that is off the hook! excellent way to display! it does look like you have more stock than most shops...keep that garage door closed you dont need unwanted eyes gawkin at your shop cause they may think its a real deal....
RL-20II Dutch-style
Wow!!!!! That's really it! Great job!!
I'm swinging by tomorrow (Yeah right). Why are there no shops like these over here anymore?? Closeby I mean.
serva
If I was there, I would pull up a stool at the counter and sit there..... shooting the sh!t with Brian for about 5 weeks untill he offered me a job putting bikes together......Thats how you get a job at a bike shop
Bedlam Bikes
Brians BBQ this fall is going to be cool. Hanging around the shop - just like the old times.
Pappa Shango
What did you do with all your mountain bikes?
2elliot
That is class... do you ship to the UK?

Bren
