ok just got em today in the mail, but the warrenty card says dont use over 40psi on tires. is that true? I was going to use 100psi rl edge, but should I not?
Blue_Max
ive heard of other people using 100 psi tires on tuffs just fine, but I dont know for sure since I usually use 35-40 psi tires.

I've heard of people running higher tire pressure with no problem. But, I'm not sure about 100, I might be thinking 60. Sorry, that probably didn't help at all.

damn it. time to get new tires too.....

Just because the RL edge tires say 100psi doesn't mean you have to put all 100 psi in...just use less....

For my old set of Tuffs 70PSI is the absolute maximum i ever dare to use. Beyond that pressure you're likely to experience some dangerous amount of outward bend on the sidewalls. Be careful.

50 in rl edge tires sound ok?
djbdb
i ride 60psi...

thats what i ahve in my 24" cruiser tuffs - and thats how much i always put in BITD in my 20" wheels...

And if Timo rides 70 then you are REALLY safe cuz I've seen some of his vids and he SHREDS!!!

i just dont want my tires feeling squishy at 60psi

It depends on the tires you use. Old school, keep to that 40 PSI - new school, go higher. I forget who but someone at Skyway told me the new higher pressure tired have the beads a little tighter so you can get more pressure in them on Tuffs. The Tuffs haven't changed in diameter though.

You'll know when you put the tire on there. If you have to play with the seat of the tire to get major hops out you're going to have trouble with them coming off the sides. If not, you're probably OK with whatever the tire says you can use. "probably" - your mileage may vary.

Short answer: I ride 90PSI with Primo V Monster tires on my personal G-ride with no problems. On the other hand the bike I'm restoring with the Comp St's is true to the original with the hop/seat the tire problem.

you will not have a problem running 60-70psi in the tires....
