There is a much longer post from another section of the site with much more detail -
HERE - but I wanted to post some pics of my brother's 1985 RL20-II that I recently restored for his 40th birthday.
Enjoy!

I don't have as much knowlege on items from 1985 on, was '85 the only year they offered the all chrome frame with the first generation RL20-IIs?

Some will tell you that they had an all chrome in 1985, but I never seen it. So, not really sure either way.
As far as I know, there was only an all chrome one in 1988.......pink lettering decals, with a slight black fade behind the lettering.
That Hutch stem looks nice on there...

Thanks Stephen. All the core parts on this bike are my brother's from back in the day.
He did buy it all chrome and if my memory serves me right, he bought it the first year it was available. I did replace the decals, but with ones just like the old scratched up ones.
So who knows, I just like it because being all chrome it is a little different than most of the ones you see.

I also had an all chrome '85 as well a couple of years ago. Good to know there's another existing.

Bob,
If you check the coaster brake tabs (small piece running from the drops to the rear chainstays), an '85 should be straight. Your's are bent. Looks like it may be an '86 RL20 II. Either way, it looks great.
