Will Dia Comp 990's w/the mounts (front/rear) work on my RL20 or should I use my original Nippons?
My Nippons need new springs, any suggestions?
Thanks

The RL-20 never came with 990 mounts. Unless you plan to weld some on or try using an adapter, then you're stuck with calipers.

RL Paulie: I have the 990 mounts, They lay right on the forks and the frame where I would normally have the Nippons. I want to use 990's because my springs are shot and the Nippons barely work. I just dont' want the 990 mounts to rub the frame or fork after I re-finish the bike. Am I stuck with the 990 mounts rubbing the frame and fork or is there a better way to mount the 990 plate or can I find new springs for the Nippons?

Depends on what you're going for. If you want to remain true to the original and stay era correct then replace the springs or buck up for a NOS set of old school brakes. I'm not sure how good 990s are with those adapter plates, but if you're looking for function then 990s might be better. I'm sure there are many members here that have a couple spare springs laying around... post an ad in the wanted section.

I got some that I freshly re-chromed springs. $8 shipped for two of them.
