INHD2 and it's on channel 722 here in Arizona...not sure where you're at though. I have Cox high def so maybe that will help.
Oh Yeah...it's wide screen too.

I'll have to check my TIVO programming guide to see if it's being aired in my area!
I'd love to have that movie stored in my Tivo. It would make it easy to foward through all the crappy parts, which we all know is about 97% of the movie!

I have a guy that has put the original RAD movie on DVD, with full color cover, menu, scene selections, sealed DVD and all.
Since it was never released by the actual film company or studio on DVD, this is certainly the next best thing to actually getting it re-mastered.
They did a great job on it!
We have them here:

I bought one of those DVD's on ebay. Not sure who made the copy. It's pretty grainy and there's a slight skip every 5 seconds or so. It's barely noticable, but once you notice it, it drive you nuts!
I hope someone can record it in high def & widescreen and put it on a dvd, I'd definately buy one of those!

You can hack the HD Tivo and move the movie to your PC then rip it and burn it to DVD. I don't have a HD Tivo tho.

With a Series2 Tivo you don't even have to hack 'em anymore as long as you have it on your network. Download Tvio-To-Go from their site. I use it to store movies that I want to watch again....someday.
Rad is out of print but showing it on TV bodes well for a DVD release.

The movie RAD was recently listed on Ebay in the Laser Disc format. I was going to get it and attempt to rip it to DVD for sharing, but the starting bid was $80 (I think). Add that to the cost of a laser disc player and it was just too costly. I was hoping that it would not sell and he would relist it cheaper, but alas it was purchased.

.....And such a well done movie too. There should have at least been an Acadamy Awards nod to RL for those front wheel hops.

Yes, I have a DVD copy also that it is done very well. But as a perfectionist.... I wanted a digital copy. Not analog converted to digital. It's the small details that will become even more visible as the TVs become better and better.

Just got home and watched it in 1080i full wide version with remastered sound and I must say it was like the day I watched it at the movie theater. I noticed little things like Eddie's dropouts had 3 holes vs. Martin's 4 holes in his dropouts. I mean it is that clear and the color is perfect..you could read and see every thing with such detail.

I have HD and watched it in 1080i. It was cool. When they show older movies on that channel you can tell it is not full HD but the quality was very good. My 4 year old daughter watched it with me, she liked and said after it was over, "I want to watch it again." Watching it took me back. I really enjoyed the opening and the closing. As I am older and notice goofs in movies, I noticed at the end during the race on the last lap, that Cru bails when he comes out of that soup bowl, but it is edited to where he lands fine. I hate that I notice that stuff now.
Great movie. I wished I had windows media center so I could have tivo'd it and then burned it.

I know the movie is old. Did the copyright run out or something to allow people to duplicate the movie and sell it.

Some of those ebay auctions are from people in Canada - and COpyright laws do not apply.
