Here's the scoop. This'll take a while. I located and ended up acquiring my old riding buddy's '85 Master. He took it apart BITD and it ended up under his house in the mud. After many many phone calls, my folks brought it to me from Okla. last summer on a visit. This is all I got. Luckily he didn't have the tools to remove the cranks. Best of all. Got it for free. With his permission of course.

Stripped it clean and took it to a metal shop two blocks from my house. When I walked in carrying the frame and cranks, this big, burly redneck dude says "Nice kids bike." I replied with, "Nevermind." On my way out the door, this guy in the back of the shop says, " Hold on a minute. Whatcha got there?" Turns out he used to build bike frames for some manufacturer, but I didn't ask which one. Not so many duckets later, he fixed the dropouts and did a great job on the crank arms.

After metalwork, I sent it to who else, but Chip. Who by the way is THEEEE MAN. I can't say enough about the passion this man has for these bikes. If you haven't done business with him yet, find something to send to him. He'll help you get it done right. Not to mention the unbelievable work he does.

After quite a few months, and several eBay purchases later. I finally put the cranks on today. I need to take the back hub apart and regrease it, but the wheel had never been mounted until now, and I'm afraid of screwing it up. Here's the breakdown:
'85 Master F&F--restored by C4 labs. Thanks for
hookup w/ the forks Chip.
"86 Haro bars--listed NOS on eBay, but the color
matches the frame perfectly, hmmm...
Redline forklifter stem--original to bike, restored by
me. Still need the correct bolt.
It has a NOS ACS Pott's bolt now
Sugino/Redline 400 cranks--original to bike, restored
and rechromed. Sugino decals. With
original BB and sealed bearings.
Bearing cups stamped Sugino.
Sugino chainring 43th--NOS, have original 42 th but
it's bent and in bad shape.
Sugino chainring bolts--NOS, one is original to bike
MKS Graphite X's--original to bike
Skyway Tuff 2's--NOS with coaster. Still has yellow
serial numbers.
Haro freestyle tires--NOS
Izumi nickel chain--NOS
A'ME Tri's-- New with NOS Flite Donuts
Dominator seat- NOS, would like to change to white
Dia Compe hinged clamp--NOS 2nd one on coaster
arm is original to bike and unrestored
FS/880 and MX-901 brakes. Front is original to bike
Have the rear, but the 901 was in
better shape.
Dia Compe Tech 4(?) levers--NOS
Hatta headset--NOS
Tioga seatpost--NOS
Haro frame pad--NOS but a little dirty.
Skyway axle pegs--NOS

Had to rethread the crank arms for the caps before I put them on. The threads weren't in the best shape, and I forgot to repair them before chroming.
So I finally got it done, and if my buddy Jason wants his bike back, he can have it. By prying it from my cold, dead hands.
Thanks to Chip for the excellent work and the hook-ups.
Thanks to Ginny's for the bits and pieces stuff.
And thanks to you eBay sellers from whom I purchased these parts from.
Oh, and thanks to moms and pops for doing the legwork to get this bike to me.
Hope you like.

A few with my '85 Sport and '88.5 Master.

I think this might be it for me. I've been thinking of re doing my old Hoffman Bid Daddy. Not sure what year it is. I use it as a rider now. But, these are the ones I wanted. May sacrifice the Sport for a '85 blue one, which is what I rode BITD. Don't know yet. Guess we'll see.
