How do these things attach to the brakes?? Do they unscrew or what?? They are still in their packet and i don't really want to pull them out.

Are they hard to come by??????????

They look like they're for 990 brakes. There would be a little mount for them that they would go throuh and that would get tightened and hold them in place.

there the later ones to work with dia compe ad 990s brakes the threadless post means the bolt to tighten them down is actualy under the arms so they can be a real ***** to set up personaly maybe easier on certain setups though maybe asked roberto i'm sure he'd be interested, and I'm prety sure those are fairly hard to come by.just remember they require certain 990 mounted brakes or some cantis mounted ones as they won't work on caliper brakes

They're meant for U-brakes like Dia Compe AD990 and such. Here's black ones:

I think they're usually refered to as "cantilever pads" beacuse they don't have threads like regular pads.

right here's somthin else....if you heat up the knurl type stem on those pads with a lighter it will overcure the loctite glue and will screw off leaving a normal threaded tuff pad.

Yeah, thats right lewis! and then you can use the stem to convert your diacompe pads to fit 990's!

I only know of the skyway pads. Its for real. I have about 50 black and white 990 pads I was looking at them one day and one of the sleeves was loose and I could turn it.....it just unscrewed leaving a standard thread.
