Dynos have always been popular in my book. I hopped on a long time ago.
On that note, I can say that I sold a survivor 87 D-Tour a few months ago for over $330. I wasn't expecting to get much more than $200 for it. Somebody hit the BIN for BronxStylers 88 Pro Compe for $850? I think it was.

... just stay away from the VFR's and Nitros. The US built Pro Compes/Slammers and the 85/86 US and Japanese built D-30s are the keepers.

Already have! Just received a Detour that's needing a lot of TLC. Got ripped off on a Compe which is what I really wanted, but looks like I'll never see. Which is why I got the Detour.
So far the geometry looks close enough to what I liked about the Compe. Once I get all the parts off of it I'll decide if it's lightweight enough to mess with. I like a light bike.

My favorite bikes growing up were my Dyno Pro Compes. I rode my friend's Haro Masters, and Sports, and even traded my first Pro Compe to my best friend for his GT PFT for a while but we ended up trading back. I guess they just fit me and my style of riding best. One of the things I liked then and still is that they are not as popular as the GT's and Haro's. Did anyone see any at Rockford?

About that blue compe... That's got to be an 89 or 90 model year which is a little past my time but I think the later style GT mags would be correct for it. It probably came stock with the rims that are on it though. I know the detours came with the mags.

OK, I got a 90 detour. I don't really care about cromo, trimoly, whatever. I like the geometry.
My deal is this, the frame/fork feel rather heavy, as compared to the D-30 I had BITD.
Could anyone weigh their 85-86 f+f so I could compare? I'm torn between building it up as a daily trick rider or just pawning it off.

Funny bit mne, the other night I dreamed I ran into a kid that had a quadangle 10-speed. I spent a couple hours trying to get it from him without letting him know it was worth anything.
Figuring it was an omen, I spent the next day riding around town in 95 degree heat....but no luck...

old school daddy, is the seat and seatpost original on your former dyno? chainwheel looks a little different also.

I did it up everything original, except the seat post which is a GT laid back, and the chainwheel. I opted for the winged look. The tires are Dyno Hoop Ds which didn't come out until later on I believe. Other than that, she was all stock. I know that when I bought my 96 Compe BITD they sold it with either the drain pipe or the laid back. I chose the laid back, so I would say that either one may have been an option for this model Air. Most believe in the Dyno drain pipe, but I think the laid back looks better. Either way, you can't go wrong. I rescued that frame/fork from scrap, and the rest I aquired. She was a great riding bike. Sometimes I wish I would have kept it. You have a nice piece for sure.

You catch the Dyno bug Lou, or just after the flights? Hudson almost got in there!
