Hey all,
I was hoping that guys with the old 86 magazines could look through them and scan a few pics of Ron Wilkerson on his blue 86 Sport. Preferably when he rode with the blue peregrine masters.

Thanks!

Well, as OS Bob O can attest to - there were many incarnations of that bike. It changed from week to week as far as parts were concerned.

Asking for a pic of it when it had blue Peregrine Masters is like asking for 1 picture.

Check out Bob O's build that way displayed at Rockford. Also PJandHaro's replica build as Ron had it set up in the movie Rad.

Both builds can be seen here...... Hyperspace!

true, I've seen quite a few...I love both those replica builds! those are 85's, has anybody done an 86 around here?
mr coasterbrake
believe the many incarnations!! in 1986 our shop had the ron/BB/nourie Haro team out and we helped Ron change stuff on his bike, probably, 3 or 4 times over the course of one day !!!
PJandHAROs
no they are 86's
BOB-O
yes,, they are 86 bikes.
why do you think they are 85 mike-g ?
Mike-G
Hey OS BOB-O, I was going by the catalogue(s) and the fork standers. According to the catalogues the 'bolt ons' came on the 85's and the first edition 'flip ups' came on the 86's. However the 'bolt ons' came on 86 FST's and FSX's...
BOB-O
yes, but if you know wilkersons style he did alot of crazy variations!!
he never really rode catalogue bikes, always customs..
Mike-G
yeah, figured that much. Crazy variations to match his personality. Always loved his bikes, those pics of him doing 'nothings' at the enchanted ramp.

Got to say, love your replica build OS!

thanks bob o, the list will help alot. all I have of the parts to start my project off is just the dk stem and pedals lol...still gotta get a 86 haro sport.
BOB-O
try to find some pics of the bike you want to build. it will help out alot..
oh,on my build the brake pads are dia-compe in the front in white and green skyway in the back..
Blue_Max
I dont really have any of the old magazines to look from. do you have any scans of the magazine pics you used?
Mike-G
Yeah, I'd really like to do one...I just picked up an 86 Sport (I'll have it this weekend-late Fathers day gift ) - it's in really good condition. I'm not completely sure how exactly the build will go...I'm going to go through my mags and gather as many 86 pics of Ron I can and decide which set up I like best and what set-up I may have rode bitd as well. I would like some Black Peregrine Masters though! I have two sets of white, anyone ever dyed them black?? lol.
Stussy
Here is a picture from the interview a few members did a while ago. The pic is courtesy of axlepeg
Mike-G
yeah! thanks Stussy. There they are, the blk PM's...
mnewxcv
are those wheels painted?
Spicoli
I've never done it, but other people have dyed mags w/ good results...I dont see why you cant dye a white set black.
mnewxcv
im just looking at where the brake pads rub...either white pads rubbing onto the wheels or paint rubbing off....
Hudson
I've got a set of PM's i'll be attempting to dye soon. I'm curious...is there any way to remove the existing color from PM easily...will the rit dye remover work? Or should i just bleach the hell out of them?
Mike-G
Here's my 86, just got it this weekend...lots of work to do.

The guy was nice enough to throw in some great gifts for me!
