is this worth anything? i got it today. can you give me some info on it?

Mr. Clean
Dude, I had one of those in yellow with blue anno parts in 1981. It looks like you got one of the cheaper ones, as mine had sugino 3pc cranks and no chaingard. It also had blue anno brakes and bars, and seat post. Sorry I can't tell you much more. I guess it would be worth whatever you could get for it. Not trying to be smart, that's just the way it works.
mnewxcv
well is it worth selling or should I just trash it do you think? thanks for the info.
BumpyTrumpet
Looks pretty beat up, put it in the pile
GFR Industries
It looks like the 1 I had in 81-82 but mine was white with red parts.
Mr. Clean
I'll take it if you don't want it. I give $40 bucks including shipping for a complete Huffy Stu Thomsen about three months ago. I know the shipping was around $30.
Mike-G
yeah, that's a "what's it worth to you?"
I think to the average collector, nothing...

I thought the Pro Thunder was the 2 speed bike.

I had one of the Blue w/ Gold Anodize 2 speed bikes, and I thought it was a Pro Thunder.

Just imagine being a kid all over again , get enthused and think of your first win this weekend at the track...but whack that kickstand off with a hacksaw first !

I had one just like that except mine was white with red parts. and the stickers said "pro thunder 3" but it was the same frame as that.
TravisW
Mine was black just like that one.

thats a late 70s to early 80s Pro Thunder as evident by the gusset, the Pro Thunder frames were redesigned in 81 (I think) and you can tell the 81 to 83 Pro Thunder frames as they had a smaller solid gusset w/ the "track certified" decal in the center...in 84 they were redesigned again, this time w/o a gusset and they came w/ a fatter down tube, but had the crappy stamped dropouts...Huffy used 1 frame for the Pro Thunders, but offered several different variations to the components...

I had a friend w/ the blue one like yours that had the 2 speed w/ grip shift, and Araya rims came stock, was a pretty cool bike...
Spicoli
Blue max, it was probably a "comp 3", I had a Pro Thunder Comp 3 "special edition" that was the same as the comp 3 except that it was chrome...mine was the latter style "solid gusset"...they also had a comp 4, that another friend had, that was the TOL model, it came complete w/ plastic mags, and a freewheel, and was a cool yellow w/ blue parts...they were actually nice looking bikes...junk, but they did look good, I would gladly put a nice one in my collection...
Blue_Max
spicoli, im actually not too sure what model mine was, it turns out the forks are the only thing on mine that say pro thunder 3. I did find a old pic of mine though

did the pads say anything on them ? I seem to remember the pads were specific to the model, at least on the later "solid gusset" bikes...

back in 83-84 I had a Pro Thunder "challenger 3000" (boy Huffy had some long names), black / gold, it was a trick looking bike, after I trashed the tin 28 spokers, broke that crazy 1 bolt gooseneck, and bent the bars, my boy who raced and always had a bunch of "high end" stuff layin around, hooked me up w/ some cool parts on the cheap...he gave me a sweet gold proneck, some CW pro bars, and yellow steel flange coaster Tuff IIs, for like 40 bucks or sumthin...I got My first real bike in 85 (from the same dude) a 82 GT pro, fully decked out for a hundred bucks, and the bars and neck ended up on that bike...surprisingly I never broke the Huffy F&F...just a little Huffy story from my past...
mnewxcv
well it went into the pile today.

I had the yellow/blue Pro Thunder as my 1st BMX bike.I cracked the frame, broke the fork, bars and neck and bent the rear wheel badly.I posted before it eventually got welded, painted white and came out very nice.It drives me nuts that i can't remember a thing about where it ever went to.

Add me to the list of the yellow/blue Huffy owners. I had a white/blue one before that which I had for a week and a half before it got stolen.
