I was thinking of getting a set of these in the future to use on the 1987 performer I found being thrown out a couple weeks back, I was wondering how well these work? or if they slip at all down the forks?

They don't slip if you tighten them enough... unfortunately 'enough' will deform your fork. Nobody actually uses them any more. Axle pegs are much much more useful.

i actually used grip tape for my fork fold downs and they held really good for me
just put some oddesey ones on my newer dyno and they havent sliped and i am a big guy
but if you want to part with the gt fold downs let me know
i have a performer i am trying to put together would make it look better

what eliu said, a little grip tape goes along way. I prefer axel pegs but for good fork hops they are the best...they look good too.
