Congrats to the builders that will be moving on.

i personally expected the winner.... but not the rest of the results
pjbaz
WOW!

I didn't expect that either...

Congratulations to the winners, and everyone else this has been a great contest so far.
Bedlam Bikes
I had a pretty strong feeling on which bike was going to win this heat. I was also right in who'd take second.

Everyone who had a bike in this round did really well. Even the "last" place fnisher had a lot of votes!

Same Here. I guess that's why I don't gamble.

A couple of Clean builds movin' on. Congratulations to the builders. I can't wait to see the results of the rest of the heats.
Hudson
Looks like some folks only voted for 1 cuz the pole reports 246 people voting, but in the results there are only 430 votes (there should be 492...if i did my math right)

Those 62 votes coulda made a difference to bike 6 and 7 that were 3rd and 4th.

Awesome bikes, fellas. Not a loser in the bunch.

HUDSON??

LOL
pjbaz
Ah yes, the hangong chads...Awesome photo grab Jeff.

For the record I'm 0-2 on my votes, but 1-1 on the winners of the round.

Guav
I thought #5 would place much higher than that—it was one of my favorites of the contest, I loved the iridescent paint.
moocow
where are teh results ???
Daniel W
Here are the results.

Originality and uniqueness obvioulsy gets a lot of votes. I'm suprised the more factory looking/Freeman-replica bike #3 didn't get more votes. That's one cool looking bike... but then again they all are!
Jarvi
Well done to those who progressed. At least I picked one of them.

I'm with you Guav. To the owner of bike #5, you were robbed. That is a very fine build.
Bedlam Bikes
My wife voted for bike #5....she loved the paint.
I agree - one of the nicest looking colors in the entire comp.

And neither bike I voted for moved onto round 2.

Me either Jeff but I suspected that they would be the two to advance. Congrats Guys and I can't wait to see the top 4 chooses !

Brian
Wheelie Nelson
I also voted for #5.
I did vote for #1 and I'm suprised that #2 got soooo many votes. It's definitely a nice bike but I didn't think it was as original as some of the others.
Well done to you all though.
Any of those bikes would be sweet to have.
rcrscott29
Is round 2 going to be a week long again?
malp
I agree with Guav and Wheelie I thought #5 was the bike to beat. #2 is a sweet ride though!
Bedlam Bikes
I haven't decided Scott. A week seems kind of long... perhaps Wednesday thru Sunday night would be better.

Although once the comp is over - then what??!!??

Thoughts anyone?
Matt427
#1 & #4 got my vote. They're all awesome builds; it was a decision not easily made. For me it came down to color combinations for the most part.
rcrscott29
I agree with a shorter time for the second round. Especially since everyone has seen the bikes already once.
Once the comp is done, I don't know what we're gonna do. Perhaps put the few brain cells we have left together and figure out how to do another contest.
Brian P
how bout doing another contest, this time "no holds barred" anything goes as long as it started as one of the raw frames?
Hudson
I think the next contest should have some sort of standard judging criteria. Or maybe have a panel of judges or something. How is it done at rockford? Maybe some 1-10 criteria:

Quality of parts
Color choice
Era correctness
Customization

something like that...i dunno.
Daniel W
Not like all the builders haven't done plenty already, but once the contest is over I would like to read run-down on parts and most importantly why everyone choose to build the way they did, since everyone has put so much thought and effort into their builds.

Get answers to stuff like: Why those colors, why those bars, seatpost, tires, etc? What turned out as expected, what didn't, etc?

Rideability?

I voted for #3 & #7...
For me, it's all about the details (in this contest in general)...and frankly (even though no one wants to be the bad guy & say anything that may be labeled as derogatory...), some of these bikes were good until you looked at the small details.

Cables that are too long or not tied down properly, bars that are pushed too far forward, incorrect tires for a FS bike, etc...

IMO, the Freeman replica (#3) was perfect with the exception being the pegs...I would have preferred to see 2 of the same brand pegs. But that's a very small thing. Too bad that bike didn't move forward.

A very cool contest with some very cool bikes, no doubt about that...but I would have liked to see some of them finished a bit better.

Still, I applaud all the contestants for getting it done.

Results correspond with my votes on this one. There must be like minded voters around somewhere here.
n2o
The two that moved on aren't the ones I voted for (one was) but I can't disagree with the results. All entries are cool in their own way.
pjbaz
I agree with some of the comments about correct (freestyle) tires, etc. The details make the ride.

I went with #4 and #7.

I loved the Odyssey bars on #4 but the forklifter stem made them a bit too tall for me...I still loved the color combo and overall feel of the bike.

#7 was just bright and crazy the way I remember the 80's...plus I like the idea of seeing thi sone with so much color that it helps me justify having a bike with pink accents myself-LOL.
serva
I voted for the winners of this round....I think I'm liking a more clean look.... as I get older!
ROBERTO
The pink definately had some personality.
