I work at a chevy dealership and about a month ago I was in a town in Ohio delivering a car. The town I was in was about 2 hours from where I live and I used to race there when I was younger. While I was there I decided to go down and check out the old bike track, but when I had gotten there it had been torn down. I was about a block away from the old track site on my way back to the dealership when I saw a kid riding a BMX bike. I got a little bit closer when I realized it was a guy that I used to race with that lived in the town. So I pulled over and jumped out he didnt recognize me for when I had known him before I was in middle school and he was in his early twenties. I was overly excited to see him because his parent used to have a traveling bike shop in a van that they would take to all the bmx events and set up shop. I had gotten to talking to him and slipped in the big question, " do you happen to have any of your old bmx stuff laying around" he quickly replied yeah I got a whole garage full of stuff. Starting to drool I had him take me their to check things out. Before we got there I had asked him if he had ever heard of VBMX and he had told me he hadnt then I asked him if he ever buys anything on ebay and he had told me he had never had any reason to use the internet so he never has.$$$$$$$$$$$$ The little devil on my shoulder was about to kill me with anticipation, good always over comes evil with me because I believe in karma. I had told him his stuff was probably worth alot of money and he should keep ahold of it. Then he had told me that he had taken huge box of old parts to the race track a few years back and dumped them on the ground for everybody there to pick through for free. He also told me he has had tons of people call him in the last few years asking him if he had any bmx stuff left so he had a little bit of an idea it was probably worth some money. When we got to his house he didnt have as much stuff as I thought he would and it was mostly all racing stuff because he was never into freestyle until the past 5 or 6 years, but here is the run down of what he had that I can remember:
2 sets of NOS Pink woody hutch bars he said he bought 10 sets of them for 100 bucks back in the late 90s
a set of 1/2 inch hutch pedals
two JMC frames
a JMC bmx bike
a JMC pit bike
a TNT wa fong daddy
and a bunch of other parts laying around that I cant remember. This weekend I am going am going down ther and I am going to take my camera to get some photos to post up here. I am hoping I can work something out for a set of those woody bars but I dont know if he will trade.

Why not just ask him what he wants for the lot? It might be less than you think.

Where was this guy at in Ohio? You got an exact address you can send me? I think he may be my brother. I have not seen him since he stole our parents van with all the bike stuff in it 15 years ago.

I'm going to check out our city police auctions in a couple weeks. they have so many bikes they have to have 2 auctions.
can usually find a couple older bikes. One year i got a T/A early model And a diamondback viper.
Another year there was a Chrome KZ1 but they put it with a Mountain bike and sold for too much.
People are crazy sometimes at these things. pay more than retail for a Walmart MTB LOL.
sometimes you can get a good deal though.
