I had the highest bid but the reserve price was not met. The seller said that he might sell to me anyway, so I should go ahead and tell him a price. He was also going to e-mail me more detailed pics. I e-mailed him a price, expecting a counter offer and the pics. I also told him that I wanted him to honor the selling terms and conditions.
It's now a week or so later. He never e-mailed me back or called me. He never sent the pics. It was if he died suddenly or was abducted by aliens. Some men you just can't reach. I don't understand people like him. All he had to do was send me the pics and provided it was honestly represented, he just had to re-list the item on e-bay with a buy it now price that we agreed upon, and good times would be had by all! What a jackass some people are. Oh well. I'm still looking for a similar ride. I posted a msg on Craig's list Denver area, and the right keywords will bring up my post if you do a yahoo, and or google search. Anyone who has what I'm looking for is free to contact me at mario5150@msn.com and we can set up some kind of secure transaction if I like what you have. What I'm looking for is a sweet unmolested 1985-86 Gt Pro Performer, preferably green, although I will consider other finishes. The bike must be correct to period, Tuff wheels, etc. and the finish must be original. I would also prefer a bike that was near to NOS as possible. The bike will not be used or even ridden, I only plan to sano it up to near new condition and just put it in my house.

Thanks to all

Mario

I just read your other post, Mario:

quote:
Lock and load. Green and purple and maybe another color came in 1985 as far as I can remember, because I'm pretty sure 1985 was when I got my green Performer that I really want back, dag nab it! I told my story a week or so ago on this forum, so anyone who wants a good laugh should check it out.
I was never a good freestyler, but I was all about being a poseur so I was always keen to what was hip in freestyle bikes. By 1987, when I traded away my Perfomer, I didn't really pay much attention to what the new items were. Now 19 years later, My 20th HS reunion is next spring, I'm checking out the net for vintage rides. The sort of aqua colored and Vertigo Performers I don't remember from back in the day. They must have come in 87 or 88. I saw Fiola in either 85 or 86, and I'm trying really hard to remember what color his ride(s) were, but I can't. I remember the bike store west of Denver where he rode, but no specifics. I got his autograph somewhere, but it's probably lost. As best as I can remember, the plainer colored Gt's were most popular. I remember a lot of chrome and white frames, A few yellows as well. Didn't Haro have a green frame sometime in 1985-1987? I seem to think that a new model was introduced at the time.
Any and all reply to my posts about the 80's. Everyone I knew from the old days is now either useless, gone from my life, or a fruit!

Party on Garth

I also had the pleasure of reading your other posts when the original auction for that green GT took place.

I get a kick outta guys like you, with a one-track-mind and an insatiable obsession with some single element of the old school scene.
Not to make fun of your plight, but I admire your enthusiasm.

Anywho, I've got a couple pics I'm sure you'll enjoy.

This guy was on eBay a couple of months ago. It sold for $125:

And the only pic I know of that appeared in FREESTYLIN' of a green GT.

Just kidding. I have no idea how much that one sold for on eBay, I just wanted to see if I can hear you scream "NOOOOOO!" all the way in Connecticut. Honestly, I think it might not have met the reserve. Maybe it'll be up again?

Party on, Mario.

I'm not obsessed, I'm psychotic! The completed e-bay items only go back so far. I'll have to see if there's some preference to change in order to view completed items going back farther. I've never tried now that I think about it.
That old pic is pretty wicked. I remember seeing a green Performer in an ad, and I think a pic of a GT pro trickin' on one. I actually just caught the vibe to try and find a Peformer a few weeks ago, so I won't scream too loud about the pic that you posted because there's no one to blame for missing it! I'm actually more enthusiastic now because I know that there are at least four green Performers known to have existed at one time. My old one, the pic you posted, the one I bid on, and the one in the old mag.
I'm sure that there are plenty of near NOS Performers out there, even in colors. There are so many people on the net and I'm sure that the right one will come in time. I don't need it right now anyway, I'd look like a fool riding it to work!

Let it rock, let it roll, you can't stop the fire burning out of control.
