Ok guys I need your input, knowledge and any info. I want to build a Eddie Fiola replica GT performer, however I cant think of a color combo that just scream FIOLA ! ... I can think of other bikes and instantly think of guys who rode them, like a blue Haro sport was Wilkerson, green Haro master was D. McCoy, purple CW was DIZZ, white P.K. was Mike Buff and everyone knew Woody had the pink trickstar. But what was the one color that comes to mind when you think Fiola ? Like I said any info will help & pics would be awesome and much welcomed.
COASTY
The all yellow GT is the most famous of them all I reckon. Someone here has one.
Nighthawk
All yellow with yellow tuffs, all yellow with black tuffs, all white with black tuffs, those are "Fiola" to me.
jjcmack
VENOMSZ
Someone already built the yellow, so I would say
do the all white.
I recall seing that yellow one on the bay a few
weeks back?
twintoptuber
The yellow banana is pure Fiola.
RL-20II Guy
I like the all white one that has the wheel covers on, with all the decals on the covers too....

I like the Performer that had 1 3/8 rims with Race bars and fork. There was a chrome one and a white one. White one was the one in the opening of RAD and the chrome one could be seen on GT-V and GT Classified freestyle videos. I got white 86 World Tour Fiola Replica in the works to look like this one.
Some bike part colors and parts will not be correct, but I will try to get it close enough to make it look like his. As for color that comes to mind when thinking Fiola I would say Yellow, but when he hit that 9'foot 2" air in 85 that would be the all white with white tuffs.
COASTY
I'm an old fart so I remember him on this weapon! I do love the GT's too. But this is where I remember him first.
samhain526
What about Martin A. on his hot pink World Tour.
RL-20II Guy
The chrome one with 1 3/8 rims was also in the opening credits of RAD too......when he does that foot plant on the fence.....and some other ground tricks.....

Stephen
Wheelie Nelson
Didn't he ride a yellow one with blue tuffs for a while?
I've always liked the yellow and blue.
Stince
Folks, after that photo was placed on the cover of BMX action (WHITTIER not Pipeline!) the sport started taking off. You can see Haro, Morales, Blood, Bennett and an unfamiliar Mike D. lurking in the back ground.
86EndoKing
I'm probably wrong but doesn't that look like Woody under the seatpost? lol

86EK
ROBERTO
That does look like woody under the seatpost!

Hugo Gonzalez standing in the GT jersey (maybe??)

Bob Morales standing in the Haro jersey (maybe??)
CowasockeeSteve
Bob Haro in shorts to far left?
Axlepeg
The cool part is, is that you can do a Fiola replica on just about any color...he rode just about all of them.
I like the classic chrome, myself:

What year were you thinking of doing?
Haro#7
NO DOUBT coastvl, I am on the same time line as you I guess. Aug. 1982 BMXA, that is the cover picture that did it for me back in the day, its defineatly in my collection! Also the bike I am think about doing nobody has even mentioned. Remember that pink ( i think) and black one Fiola rode? you know the one that had that funny looking slinky or accordian looking thingy on the seatpost. HA HA HA ... Anyways thanks for all your input guys, keep it coming. OHH and last thing, since y'all are playing wheres waldo HA HA HA ... did anyone see R.L. in Eddie's back wheel under his brake?
Old School Daddy
I would go for the yellow even if some has done it. White is classic and way rad, but the yellow is what has and will always scream Fiola. Get you a helmet and do the cool mohawk thing to go with. Still in H-Town Haro? Used to live there BITD, but originally from Galveston.
Haro#7
I sure am O.S.D. lived in the clear lake area as long as I can remember. I think y'all are really starting to make up my mind. I am leaning way hard towards yellow. I have a pic of the exact bike I think I am going to do. If I can figure out how to post pics I will show y'all and tell me what y'all think...... Y'ALL ... no kiddin I am from Texas, so dont laugh. HA HA HA
Eddie Fiola
from Right to Left -
Fred Blood with megaphone
Steve "BioAir" Bennit with purple sleeves
Blond grommet behind - Mike Dominguez
RL Osborn face is visible through the mag of rear wheel
Woody Itson - topless under the seatpost
"Harry" Larry's (spelling?) wife - Denise Barter in the purple tube top
Bob Morales running the "0" number plate
Bob Haro's brother in the yellow AFA shirt
and that it NOT Bob Haro in the blue shorts

as far as I can remember - I have hit the ground several times.
Old School Daddy
Do you remember when the Brittania Tour came through Houston? Check my topic. It must have been July 86.
Haro#7
WOW ! I feel honored. The KING added to my thread. I do remember the Brittania tour O.S.D. However, my most memorable Fiola sighting was the very first time I saw him i think in summer of 83 during what I think was a vans tour on that ridiculous plexi-glass half pipe with no flat bottom. It was Fiola & Dominguez

Well, it was a shot in the dark.
Old School Daddy
Every time I see that lemon, I crack up. Good stuff Steve... Gooood stuff.
VENOMSZ
I went to that show back in 86.
It was the point of no return.
Old School Daddy
Hey Venomsz,
Were you at the Houston show? I was there. It was in a mall, but I don't remember which one. Do you?
Howard Radcliffe
I loved the red frame with white forks, handlebars and parts and black tuffs that he rode on the World Tour, stunning bike.
Jeff S
That 1st photo of Eddie coming out of the pool is classic. They need to make a movie about BMX at that time. Sort of like Lords of Dogtown. Would be awesome. I'm sure Eaton's on it!

JEff
Haro#7
Hey O.S.D. the mall I saw it at was Pasadena town square mall. Than after the show they went inside and signed autographes.... what_up venomsz
86EndoKing
I noticed something a little odd about Axel pics so I reposting them.

One thing I like about the old days is how the pros supported and took an interest in the riding of other pros... Woody Itson comes to mind.
Wheelie Nelson
Oh man, that is too funny.
86EndoKing
I remember that show in 86, cuz that was the day I bought my white master. There used to be a bike shop there. Good times.

Mark, give me a shout. I'll host those pics for you.

Eddie, I hear a freestyle reunion is about to happen, any plans on showing up?

I wonder why. lol
Too funny
VENOMSZ
Was it at P-town?
I'm almost positive it was at Almeda.
I was 13 at the time, so I had to get a
ride up there from one of my uncles.
I went to alot of shows out at or by
WEBSTERS. Last one I went to was maybe
96, 2-Hip had a little demo there.
What bike shops did you guys go to back then?
I did most of my business at Walker & sons,
some times a place called The Spoke Shop, but
Walker's was where it was in the North Side.
VENOMSZ
where do guys ride at nowadays?
Haro#7
Well the one I saw was at P-town for sure. As for bike shops I worked at Bicycle USA in P-town square & by Almeda mall. I also went to Race-N-ride, Webster bike shop and Bowling schwinn in S. Houston, which I am sure Eddie will remember doing shows there. John call me later, I need to send you that invoice.
Old School Daddy
Yeh, I went to Walker and Son Schwinn to gaze at the untouchables BITD. Picked up alot of parts there. It was the place to go for sure. I think it was on Tidwell or W 43rd. Something like that. If I remember right, there was a Bicycle USA in Galveston where I bought my OGK mags. It was on the strand and didn't last long. I also bought my 85 Mach 1 on the island at another Schwinn place but for some reason I can't remember the name and that place was there forever. I will never forget the yellow Performer they had there. If memory serves, they didn't make alot of those in that color. If only I could go back. Air Force now, but I go back to H-Town and the Island all the time. Most of my family still lives there.
86EndoKing
P-town fo sho! Almeda put on an awesome Skyway show, Hoffman ROCKED! I still have his autograph,...somewhere. Bowling Schwinn is still in business, so they're doing something right. I still go there from time to time. Yeah, Eddie ruled the air at Bowling. I'll never forget those days.

I'll give you a shout.

Walker's was on Pinemont. I went by there a few weeks ago, just to see. It is now some Lawn Mower shop, and a screwy D&D gaming place right next door. I stopped and got out...LOL.
I had too, I swear I could still see those bikes in there, and I was excited a little bit. I can't seem to find a decent shop anywhere. Off Road Peddler is pretty nice, and Websters is ok too.
I know where there's still a NEW 06 Sport sitting around if any of you H-towners need one.
Old School Daddy
Pinemont, that's right. Man, I used to love that place. There used to be a book store next to it. Iwonder if thats the D&D? I seem to recall the Brittania not being at Almeda. Passadena sounds right to me too. Probably ran into you guys at some point in life. We'll need to post a H-Town topic...
86EndoKing
Check it. PM me your email addresses so I can keep a local contact list. I was talkin to Speed about possibly getting a mini BMX BBQ together or something for all the locals. If you guys have any other ideas now's the time.

Pinemont, Is that 45N? Where's the mystery 06 Sport, Venomz?

86EK
bmx joe
Great pics! Its helping me on my replica. Only thing will be hard to find is skinwall tires 20 X 1 3/8. May have to settle for black wall Comp III's for now.
Haro#7
Hey John that 06 sport is at Webster. And defineatly John all us H-town locals need to hook up and talk shop, plus I am always up for some tradin-n-swappin... HA HA HA also maybe I can swing by so we can post my pic. L.M.K.
86EndoKing
Houston discussion continued on the Houston Unite thread. GO THERE NOW!!

86EK
Haro#7
Well crap it looks like all the sweet Fiola pics have stopped
86EndoKing
How's this?

I love this bike!

Dunno if it's a replica, but i'm guessing it is since that's his helmet up there.
