Thinking of a date in 2006... a date that would not conflict with anything that Large Ray or Eaton might be planning in PA..... but...... Wilkerson, Meyer, Nourie, Blyther, Peterson, Hoffman, Konings, Mckee, Roman, Murray, Swope, Jones, Howell, Grutolla, and any other Skyway and Haro original factory/co-factory dudes that would like to attend - plus special guests of course. And more importantly, anyone that was a fan of the early days of freestyle. The concept (though not original) is to have a bash to celebrate the old-school freestyle days, maybe even invite the "80s GT factory" team (LOL) and have a great time celebrating our youth days gone by. ?? I will host the venue if we can make this happen and get something established sometime this year. I have not ran this idea by anyone yet... but Im sure the effort would be well worth it! .. What do you guys think?

Wow...I think I would fly just about anywhere from here in Chicago to be a part of that...
It would be sorta like a "freestyle fantasy camp"...I'm sure an impromptu contest would erupt, too, right?
I'm soooo there...

Get Bob Haro on board with this, and the rest will follow. It would be great to get R.L. and Buff in this as well...Please announce a place and date as soon as you know. You could also talk to current bike companies that have a link to the start of freestyle (Haro, Skyway...) and see if they want to be involved in making this a big event.

Rockford is basically bmx...still really cool but bmx dominated nonetheless.
Freeman's Freestyle Festival - would be all freestyle!
I always envisioned a massive gathering in CENTRAL USA giving most of us at least a shot at driving and bringing lots of bikes with us. However, with a venue like this, I'll fly to the west coast if need be!

Yeah dude, that would be awesome! I may even grow the moustache back for that one! Ha.
I have contact info for a bunch of people but haven't made the breakthrough to get Oleg's who I was told is now a lawyer in SF. Just haven't looked hard enough but it would be way cool to see that guy. Jon Peterson?
Ron Haro is a must and of course, the Skyway guys up at the factory.
As far as locations go, Venice Beach would be cool but it would also be nice to have some slopes to ride so an outdoor skatepark with good weather? I don't know but anywhere would work for me. I'd fly out for that. Let's not do it at the Velodrome though OK? I'm not into getting chased by cops or gangstas anymore! Ha.

Now we are talking! Blyther: Oscar's place would be a great idea - I wonder if Wilkerson's would be an option too? I certainly would volunteer my house but Seattle would be a stretch for just about everyone - cept maybe Nourie (in Oregon). Anyhow, lets talk this weekend a bit and brainstorm a little more. Thanks for the feedback and enthusiasm guys!

I'm biased to Nor Cal so I won't lobby too hard but... Oscar's got a mini with a BAR, a schoolyard across the street and a garage full of magazine clips. We should do some shirts. I just got working with a printer in the city on something else I'm doing so we could print there if the jam is closeby. I can coordinate that if we get some art together.
Wilkerson's is kinda "woodsy" in the Sata Cruz mountains. Very cool pad but not a lot of parking or riding there. I'm sure he'd be down for the jam though. He does have ramps that can be setup.

Ill be putting together an invite list of the factory riders for (invitations) this weekend and will post that for feedback (missed names?). Then, (privately) will need help with addresses for all of them (Eaton?). Will employ assistance in putting together a cool looking formal invitation on card stock with my contact info and/or RSVP instructions. The actual date (TBD) should be late Summer, in NorCal, and will need to accomodate how many people? Oscar - we should talk this weekend. "First Annual Old School Freestyle Factory Reunion Party". If there are enough RSVPs, we'll just lease a banquet room at a hotel or something. More to come..

No matter where you guys throw down I like the hotel idea best...and here's why.
BITD of MTV Spring Break (when it was still worth watching) they were having a party at some hotel pool in FLA when Lloyd Burlew, the Jet Ski Freestyle champion, had some dudes bring his boat off the beach and into the pool. He was busting crazy tricks in the pool! There's a sick photo of him ripping a 180 to submarine.
Can you imagine what a hotel would do if all you guys started riding handrails in their lobby?

I'm an old schooler who would like to attend!
Went to BBQ Oscar had 2 years back. Got the invite from Maurice and Rob. Got to meet a lot of people, ride Oscar ramps. Goodtimes! Would like to help out in anyway I can. I'm about 1 1/2 hour drive from Ramp Rats. I make a trip to ride Ramp Rats once a month if I can.

Jeff:
This is definitely for everyone that wants to attend - that is why it needs to be at a place that would be good for 20 people or 200. The one issue we all need to discuss is how much beer and other beverages we buy up front to accomodate a mid-range showing, how that is paid for, and to obtain more if we run out! - lol Other than that its an official invitation for the crew (old factory riders)that are not privy to this board - and an open invite for everyone else - plus word of mouth of course. The more the merrier I always say ! Right ?
