A friend of mine told me a story about a couple of pro riders from back in the day, and I was wondering if it was true. Here is the story:

"Team Haro was in Europe doing shows, one night after a show Brian Blyther and Dave Nouri went to the clubs, but there was hardly anybody there. Dave and Brian got to drinking and getting drunk and went outside where it was raining and were dancing in the rain drunk. What Dave and Brian didn't know is that the rain they were dancing in was actually the fall-out from the Chernoble nuclear disaster. Because of this Brian Blyther lost all of his hair, and Dave Nouri became sterile."

So, I was wondering is there any truth to the story?

This same friend has also told some "wacked-out" stories about Ron Wilkerson after his "nothing crash" how he seemed like he had a death wish (not suicidal, just crazy stuff); but I've heard the same stories from other people, so I assume they are true.

I've also been told that Dennis McCoy is sort of an ***, because he's got the "rags to riches, you need to respect me" attitude.

Anyway, any truth to these?

NO........

and tell your friend that crack kills.

I know lots of real stories.

Like what Eastern bikes "Jane" stands for, but I better not repeat it.

I know what old school pro used his back peg to disable a purse snatcher who ripped some chicks purse right in front of him and the chick started screaming, He pedaled up right next to the guy running away and bunnyhopped and threw his rear peg right into the guys leg, dropping him in agony, then held him until the cops arrived.

I should sell some stories on ebay.

HA---IM DYING OVER HERE

ANSWER THE QUESTIONS---
1. never happened. i just want you to think about what you just asked.
2. after wilkersons crash you could tell a difference in him (just watch joe kid) but he has an i dont care attitude anyways, and always goes big with whatever he does. so has anything really changed at all?
3. dennis mccoy has been around long enough and proven himself to have that attitude (which he doesn't), although hes just as laid back as others.

don't believe the hype. get yo *** off the pipe!

I bet Ron could take Chuck Norris...

You must be looking for some new friends ! Dude believe half of what you see and none of what you hear ! Rumors will ruin a persons reputation ! The people telling it and the people they are talking about !

Blyther seemed to be in good health when I meet him !

Dave wrote an article in Dig magazine in 1999 about the Chernobyl thing. He was joking.

To compare Ron before the crash and what was in Joe Kid is silly. Many years and experiences had gone by. He's a different guy than he was in the 80's and aren't we all. How could anyone not be different after a traumatic injury like that?

DMC is a wisea$s. And he always will be. He's great.

I tell ya - those nightclub/bars in Europe have a lot of nerve remaining opening during an downpouring nuclear fallout!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Those stories are hilarious! It takes me back to grade school so awesome!

Lets see umm yeah that’s totally true you know a “friend” told me the real Brain Blyther died a long time ago in the Haro factory and that Haro just picked up some guy from Germany who looked like him because they were afraid people would stop buying haro’s.
t nile
I have never heard of Brain Blyther. Was he any relation to Brian? LOL.
malp
HAHAHA. Whoops!
91Master
wasn't it actaully Brain that was the german replacement?
86EndoKing
Yea, It was Brain Blyther. They shot him up with all kinds of drugs in Germany, that's why he's able to get such incredible air. I also hear he's bounty hunter now in California.

If you put those wheels in the freezer, they'll straighten out.

Well, my friend, Tony, has been in the sport for years; has met a lot of people during his life. I know quite a few pros rode his half-pipe "bitd"; so I didn't know if it was crap or what. Sounded like crap, but I wanted to make sure.

And that's funny about the freezer bit, I heard that for years about ACS Z-rims and Skyway Tuff IIs. "Supposedly" the graphite would straighten out in freezing cold.

I also read a story in a local 'zine years ago about McCoy, Thorne, and some guys finding this concrete culvert and rolling it down a hill; and it smached through the glass of a car dealership damaging a bunch of cars!! This would have been around 1988-89.
jlw515
Oh, yeah, and here is another one: fact or fiction?

This one concerns Andy, Stew & Lew. Years ago, I heard they would rent cars and grind the mirrors on jersey barriers, touch their mirrors against other motorists' mirrors while driving, drive back and forth on the embankments under overpasses like a half-pipe while people stuck their hands and feet out the windows yelling, "no hander" "no footer" etc.; and then upon returning the car back to the rental they'd slam the car into reverse, pretty much screwing up the transmission.

I heard all this "bitd" from a friend named Pat, who "supposedly" was with them in Wichita, KS.

Lol... now that last one, that might be the thing Glen keeps alluding to. Insane if that really happened! LOL.

What? Chernoble fall out in Europe?? - it would be more feasible that it would have affected Alaska first and then Canada, then the US.... what a bunch of nonsense.

Rumours about old pros in the 80s freestyle era... seems like a waste of time and energy.

Oh, and TNJ's Dad... that dork is in the grey sweatshirt is Gary Pollak hanging at Brian Ps BBQ.

Scott What's goin down ? LMFAO ! He meant me ! ! ! That's why I wrote the BioDad thingy lol.

Anyway I'm working on the Streatbeat build with my wife and have been seeing a lot of old ppics of you (still can't believe we had the chance to hang) Have you heard anything from Large Ray about the BBQ ?

Wow jlw15....rumors are sometimes true or partly true. One night in europe me,ron and dave were at a fireworks show, one night after chernoble. Not sure if it was sweden or germany, but for sure us dumb americans had no idea of the accident.Out of nowhere it stated downpouring and the crowd went crazy.I never to this day seen anything that crazy.People were diving under cars, hiding under anything for cover. It was a hot night and a thousand people were afraid to get wet.We walked down the middle of the street soaking wet laughing. Then we seen people fighting to get under awenings we still dident know what to think. The next day at breakfast no milk, eggs, fruit or vegies we still dident find out until we called home.My mom said i hope you havent gone outside there is acid rain where you ar at opps.I like to say im bald because of chernoble but probaly not and ron and dave have two kids each.bb

I don't know if bb will tell it, but here is one of

my car stories.

My father in law had a 1995 Nissan Maxima rental car (his lexus was in the shop) and he let me and my brother in law take it out for a spin...

We were driving down route 4 in Fairfield OH, when I saw a couple of kids riding freestyle bikes. Since the windows were already down, I yelled out the window "do a trick", and one of the kids proceeds to flip us the bird.

The four lane road was deserted, so I thought what the hay, and jerked up on the emergency brake, while turning hard to the right. I proceeded to do a 180 and floored it (front tires smoking) toward the knuckleheads.

Man, you should have seen their faces, These kids scattered. and I followed my new fowl friend for a short time, then turned back around and started for home.

While we were watching in the rearview his buddies all pulled up to him, and now that he thought the danger had passed and he had made it unscathed, his ego presented itself again and he flipped us the bird for a second time.

So, I did it again, this time he was trapped in front of a large building and we emergency braked to a stop right in front of him. My brother in law is 230 and 6'3 and I am 5'11, 180, and said kid was probably 12 or 13.

This kid was loosing it, he started babbling about how he was just messing around, didn't mean it, ect.

I just asked if I could ride his bike, I did a decade, hang 5 and a couple of other things, then we got back in the car and drove off, with all the kids just standing with their chins on the ground in shock.

We laughed all the way home.

ps, the tires bumped from the flatspots we put in them, and when we got home my father in law said "do you guys smell something burning". My sides hurt for a couple of days after that one.

We never fessed up.

Well, see, the original question wasn't as dumb or not true as we thought. Thanks Brian for clearing that up.

Hey, here's something else. Although, this isn't concerning pros, I know of a couple of Memphis guys who went to a KOV contest at Woodward and didn't pay for a gallon of gas going or coming from the contest. How, many of you guys will fess up to that??!!

Also, Brian, we want to hear about this "Nikki C" and why you wouldn't forget her?????
TravisW
I heard that after an accident a couple of years ago, Brian Blyther was "rebuilt" with millions of dollars of California taxpayer money. Now, he must fight crime in order to repay the debt. He is now technically bionic, and was seen last summer pulling 30-foot airs on a police cruiser.

Seriously, the dude who told me was totally on the level. He sold Brian some brake pads once in 1982, so they go way back. He also told me that Dominguez invented a carburator that would make any car get 100mpg, but the big oil conglomerates banded together and forced him to sell it to them.
