I am compiling serial #s for the '82-'83 Haro freestylers, 1st & 2nd Gen '84 US Torker made Masters, and '84 US made Sports. If anyone who has these would be kind enough to assist me by posting the serial # I would greatly appreciate it!

The 2nd gen master numbers have a date , so no big mystery with these , but the gen1 freestyler , 1st gen master/sport do not hold dates in the serial number, unless the numbers are logged to dates elsewhere ,which i doubt would excist now .I dont know if anyone has any theory on the double letters either ?
We know the T is Torker .
We know the end letter F is for freestyler on the gen 1 and 1st gen master and the 1st gen sport ends with HS which i can only think can be Haro sport .
examples from my frames.......
Gen 1 freestyler TMM 2527 F
1st gen master TFF 4309 F
1st gen Sport TDD 0196 HS
2nd gen master T10845931 (oct 1984)
Dan are you collecting these numbers for your own records or trying to establish something from these serial numbers ??
DansHaros
Feb 20 2006, 12:25 PM
Both, I am going to try to figure out by the numbers, production, if we can get enough. And i'm just courious!

Cool Dan , I wouln't mind a copy of the results if you don't mind , Moose is going to be your biggest help as i think he has a load of the UK gen1 numbers , and there is quiet a few over here , but i wouldn't think there is too many 1st gen master and sport numbers to be had .
We need BOB HARO on here i think ...............

I've got a few to add when I get time. Get a hold of the Torker collectors in the BMX section. They have been looking at the letters longer then anyone and may know who could figure it out. All the Torkers I have had also shared the same prefix.
Torker Serial #'s I've had were:
TSS 4698 O
TWW 6804
HT 3029
Freestylers:
TNN 2283 F
TKK 3339 F
1st gen masters
THH 3982 F
THH 3924 F

Hi all
Another survivor for recording -
T07844754M
Torker built, July 1984, Build Number 4754, Master
If you look at the current gen 2's listed the date and build numbers make sense with mine being July (earliest) and also lowest build number.
What date did they change from Gen 1 to Gen 2 Master or did they run both at the same time?

DansHaros, I will try to help, I have been born and raised on haros from the begining. Remember when the Haro came out in the very begining it was just a frame and fork only T-torker F-frame F-fork sometimes they did do things simple and if my mind wasn't so old (ruff 80's) I think they started all the 1st gen. at 4000 not 0000. Let me do some checking.
Later Hot Dog
I would be interested in looking at your list you compiled.

No offence, but I think you're way off with this. I've never seen a Haro Freestyler with the prefix TFF (only a first gen master) and with regard to the numbers starting at 4000? Have you not looked at some of the serial numbers posted here?

Don't be so sure that it doesn't work out. I noticed the same thing just this afternoon and need a little more info to confirm it.
I'd like to know when the Freestyler, Master and Sport went on sale (if anyone knows)

I have heard sometime around September '82 for the freestyler. Not sure about the Master & Sports. I would Guess summer '84, thats when they started advertising them.

Here's my theory along with possible (rough) production numbers. Slow to begin with - then increased because of demand - tailing off near the introduction of the Master - then the Master in small numbers to begin with - introduction of the Sport - switch to 2nd Gen of Master/Sport July/August '84?
It's only my opinion based on the numbers I've collected. There do appear to be anomilies, but these need to be confirmed (TOO 1515 F I suspect may be TQQ 1515 F)

I think that makes more sense then anything I've heard yet Moose. At one time there was a factory Torker person lurking the BMX board. I have contacted a few Torker collectors but haven't got a reply yet. You may be able to confirm this by getting the # from the one Haney has. He still has the box, so maybe there could be a date somewhere on that to match up. Even if you can find an origanal owner of one that knows when it was purchased it might confirm it.
