These 2 bikes have been listed on ebay for months with no takers. Maybe the sellers should consider lowering there prices ?? 1st theres this "odd" Redline RL20 II, whats the deal with this thing , its ugly as he11, totaly not era correct, and $2,500, I dont think that bike will ever sell for anywear near that. Maybe $500 !! OK if the 401s are real, so maybe $800.
How about this Haro Sport, only $500 and you will be the proud owner of 1 completely used up Haro, that was profesionaly spray bombed with silver spray paint !!! Its even got silver tires. Yea, Im gonna drop 5oo on a Haro sport, and then spend the next 12 months trying to clean off all of this paint, and then repaint it, and decal it. How many hours would have to go into those mags alone ?? How about 200 ?? I apologize if these sellers are members here, but these bikes are too expensive for what they are...

i agree with you on both counts! how much does it cost them to continually relist these items at especially, that price of 2grand.
ive emailed the sport guy about close ups of the cranks i think they are 400's which if in good shape makes the bike worth buying. but still after several months no reply.

The RL has nice looking 95s and RL edges on it but they're not nice enough for 2500. Now the Sport is just plain ruined with spray paint.
I am sorry for saying this, but that's the truth and the truth might hurt sometimes.

I've noticed that Redline too. You'd think that after listing it as many times as he has, he'd realize it's simply not going to go for anywhere near that. Oh well. More power to them.

That RL20II is ruined. And he thinks it's hot s#!t. Look what he did to the wheels with all those spokes. Sad.

You'd think after a few months of listing the silver Sport, he'd lower the price a little!

Now I'm not afraid to paint a bike a non-stock color, but you've got to have taste to make it work right. And I think that Sport has about the same taste as a dirty ashtray.
I hope we all can at least appreciate the amount of work that went into that RL-20II with the paint and the bling, but it's just not appealing at all. It's 50% freestyle, 25% BMX, 25% eh??, and $2500. I feel as if I'm emotionally attached to this bike somehow though, seeing it on ebay every day. Day after day. Maybe if he had the painted to match forklifter bars and stem on it he'd have a better shot at selling it.

The guy selling that RL has my favorite Streetbeat of all time listed too...$599!

That RL is pure doo doo, as are those 95 spokers.
And the dude selling that Sport is just delusional. I wouldn't give $50 for that thing let alone $500.

I'd only give him $250 for the Redline sprayed metallic green and not a dollar more even with the mannequinn throwed in.

I'm sure you've all seen this rediculous Streetbeat too:
http://cgi.ebay.com/SKYWAY-STREET-BEAT-STR...1QQcmdZViewItemThat stem's gotta be original! It has the sticker and everything!
I think I saw the same tires on a Magna at Target.

Speaking of Street Beats...
I don't mean to be rude posting this or put anybodys' bike down, but who remembers this auction for a re-painted street beat?
In all it did have some decent parts on it, but the build was just plain tasteless in my honest opinion for a bike as classic as Street Beat is. I think it was up for auction atleast two times without any bids.
I am sorry if the seller is a member here or reads this, i don't mean to offend anyone. Props for the effort for painting and building though, hopefully the bike went to some caring owner.

The white Street Beat has 400 TOPS into it, jeez...Raw frames notwithstanding, you can get the kits for 2 something all over eBay 24/7, all day every day times 50.
Stem: $12.95 from Dan's Comp. I know, I've got one on this bike I'm building right now.

lol to all of yalls comments.i think all old school bikes should be painted the same "original color" and should atleast have the correct stickers on it lol.the rl looks sick to me.dont get me wrong the bike correctly painted is a awesome piece of freestyle history, but not painted 2 tone,no way man.i had a 1986 rl 20ll prostyler on the bay a while back,i know what they are worth and mine was like brand new.calafornia red.i sold it for $250.00.people are trying to get to much for old school bikes.come on people, give some of us poor guys a break to own our childhood dream.

That is not an orignal color of that Redline....Actually, the only think on that bike that is true to it's 1988 frame (that is what that frame is, a 1988 model) - is the sprocket and the 990 brakes in the rear.

yeah i think if im correct redlines came in...cal red, hazzard yellow, turquise, white, chrome, rasberry and black.they had some awesome colors didnt they.i wished they still made them.i hate that i ever sold mine.i had a rasberry one to.my friend has a white rl20 ll in his barn.hes had it since it was new and wont sell it for nothing.im into mt trickfoxes now.the redline is a way easier bike to find though.the flight cranks were cool but mine just had a standard crank.i was a poor freestyler lol...

The reason no one will buy them is not the bikes fault....bikes go through changes and paint jobs all the time. Its the owners fault for thinking they can sell them for that much. Just because you take a classic Redline bike and put $1000 paint job on it, doesnt mean its worth $1000 more dollars. And that Haro...MAN...you can get a sweet ride that wasnt attacked by the lame "rattle can" paint job for $500 any day. Drop the price and admit you screwed up with the paint. GEEZ

yeah man lmao.lets keep the old school bikes original, not pimp them out like a lowrider bike.when i build one to sell i try to keep it all in tac and no off the wall paint job.and i allways put stickers on them lol.i wouldnt pay over 400.00 for a redline or any bike for that matter.i know what they costs brand new.i dont even care if the frame is 14k gold haha.lets just not trick old school out,it messes up the old school in it people....keep it real

for the redline fans in here, theres a guy that has a 1987 rl 20 ll prostyler...its radberry.it appears to be all original parts, but hes asking 2,500.00 for it i was like damnnnn he thinks that bike is made out of gold lol.sont get me wrong though, the bike looks like brand new but come on,we all know hes not going t oget that for it...people are crazy over there prices...http://cgi.ebay.com/1987-Redline-RL20-II-Prostyle-Complete-Radberry_W0QQitemZ7223301014QQcategoryZ98082QQssPageNameZWD7VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewIte

Yeah, but at least it's perfect. I mean, I'd buy it, if I had $2500 to spare. But that hideous one with the 95's...it was custom painted to match the family's low rider... That has got to be the silliest thing I've ever heard. Must've brought it to the shop on the day they painted the car..."If you've got a little extra, could you hit my son's bike?"
I wonder if the family dog has the same paint job...he's probably lowered too.

lol......your a trip.his house might be the same color to,but i'd hope not lmao.they are dull colors to me,hard to tell what it really looks like in the pic's on ebay.he has to have bad eyes lol.as far as the radberry one for 2,500.00...man those bikes only sold for about 600.00 at the most when they were made,he thinks hes selling a caddy with a tub in it.it is indeed a awesome bike but i would never pay that price.i offered him like 450.00 for it and he laughed at me...oh well i said good luck with it....

I think the retail on the 86 RL20 II was more like $700, and I think that $2,500 is reasonable for a NOS 86 RL20 II, unfortunatly the radberry one has some questionable issues (the wrong forks for 1 thing)...
NOS, new in the box, all correct parts, you could fetch $2,500 in a second...I wouldnt go anywere near that on the radberry one though (not that I would drop $2,500 on any bike)...
This is a seriously expensive hobby...you better be ready to drop some coin, especially if your diggin Redlines...

The only reason I could think of for someone buying that Haro or Redline would be as a challenge project for someone with lots of cash. Bringing that sport back from the dead would be really difficult, but imagine the feeling of accomplishment (and kudos they'd get here) when people see the before and after.
I don't see that happening though. As for the Holmes, I don't see it selling for that amount, but you never know. It's actually a fairly rare ride isn't it? They don't pop up very often, and it looks to be in good shape. There's probably someone out there who would pay that, it's just a question of whether they happen upon the auction and have the cash.

It's funny you say that - because I've eyeballed both those bikes, thinking "man I'd LOVE to fix that and make it right... " I would love that challenge, and I know I could do it; strip the crappy paint, remove rust, sand, polish, powdercoat, paint, etc., I absolutely love the process of restoring bikes. But I don't have the funds for it like you said. I'm still not done with one of my own because of cash shortfall. But I'd really like to see that Sport turned into a gleaming C4 labs neon blue sport with pristine white Peregrines, and that RL20II as a sparkling chrome and california red bike like it deserves to be.

I contacted him once and told him that nobody is EVER going to pay $2,500 for that Redline.
His response was that he KNOWS nobody is ever going to pay that much for it—he says he has those listed as "promotion for the shop."
He doesn't intend on selling them.
