hello everyone i just ended a 9 monthe riding spree . i also have been building my new website which will feature the hutch collection . i also have interest in original paint bikes even if the paint is not perfect . i was wondering since there are probly more members here , does anyone have color trickstars and if they do post a pick i want to see how hard it will be to get picutres of each color
believe it or not i have every color now. i just picked up candy apple blue the only one i've been searching for for years , i do own a candy blue from from 86 but the paints was to far and it was chrome under , so i sold it , but i managed to keep all the blue hutch parts to rebuild one again. i think the hardest colors to find original is candy red , blue , baby blue , and futuristic black ....... add you words

Don't know if you've seen/hear about this one, but not only Windstylers came in this shade of blue. I believe that this is a member's here, and a repaint, but I've seen pics of ones from back in the day straight outta tha box:

Recently, I've heard that Trick Stars also came in un-advertised green. Someone said that they saw Woody do a show on one. I don't know, but just yesterday I was looking at my repainted black one and noticed some green in the bottom bracket. Hmmm?
Just for the heck of it, here's a pic of a former member's custom sea-foam green:

And once again, my fav pic of me on mine in '88:

I'll dispose of it for free, so long as you pay the shipping to get it to me.

Sick Stuff guys ! Here is a bad pic of my Futuristic Black Jap made Trick Star that I put together as a survivor (except the seatpost & the grips) still not finished it
That Blue Trick Star is really cool ! I love that color ! hummmm... na my wife will kill me

And my Lavender US made Trick Star before the restore. Don't laugh ! I even had to replace the rear standing platforms on this thing. In this pic I think there are like 5 or 6 factory Hutch colors
another bad pic lol

I can't friggin wait to get my TrickStar. (Kawasaki Green). It was Candy Red when I got it new. I then painted it green. My friend in NY still has it but it's on it's way back to me. I've gotten my grubby little hands on everything i need to put it back the way I had it.
It was me that said something about Woody Itson's green bike. I never saw his but he told me about it. He said that Hutch made him stop riding it because they didn't want to make them in green. Go figure.

Too rad - Futuristic blacks were released in early 1986. I had one of the first ones. I got one from Hutch without ever seeing the color beforehand in magazines.

wow , some awsome pics put togehter in here . i'
m preparing pics of my complete collection of hutch and will be posted soon.
hutch made those taiwain frmaes in 87 and painted them powder blue , light lime green and white , there were cheaply made and put together fast with hi caliber parts , even tho people think they are junk they are the final last of the trickstar , the trickstar 2 is ugly and i don't even think i would ever collect one.
yes for everyone i use to chat with its good to be back and busy again . i decided to finish the bmx site and relax and just keep buying hutch items for the musuem . keep the pics coming i think i might even have a trickstar contest . i got to think of the prize maybe a trophy and a tee-shirt

Here is Hutch Green. I said that Hutch made green before and I got blasted for it. :hellno:When I was stripping the paint off of a Trick Star there was green (candy green) paint underneath the original finish. I also noticed that every time I strip a Jap made Hutch it has multiple colors of paint on them.Almost as if they painted them a complete Hutch color and then another Hutch color ? Just something I thought I would mention.

that candy green has got to be one of the most hard to find....
CowasockeeSteve
Dec 13 2005, 11:43 AM
You also have to remember that Hutch made some one off items for thier riders. Like the green Trickstar made for Woody.
I don't know who it is in the pic but he's got a #1 plate. My guess is that it was specially made for him. I could very easily be wrong though.
(I'm not blasting you Smokin Endo) I just doubt that it was available to the general public.

Brian! The seat post on my Pink trickstar (jap) was spray bombed. I got to looking at it and it was origionaly lavender then Pink with the Hutch stickers on top of the pink. i think your right, sometimes they repainted stuff to fill some colors that were missing or something.

I have some ads in mags at home:
At first:
Chrome
White
then:
Candy Metal Flake Blue
Candy Apple Red
Baby Blue
Pink
Purple Reign
then:
Futuristic Black
then:
Chapter 11 bankruptcy
Green and gold were never actually stocked and sold in stores. I am sure of this. Hutch made a bunch of "one off's" of all different stuff. For example, he made the brace plated Trick Star for Itson.

they offered taiwanese trick stars in a green that was somewhere in between "haro neon" and "street beat" green. also a blue similar to haros. this was later on and the only ones i saw were the "kit" bikes - came with everything except the wheels.
the rider with the candy green bike is eric carter (99% sure).

The next get together is at (PKripperwanted) Steve's house (where all the Trick Stars were) on Superbowl weekend (on Sat.) check the gathering section here at Vintage. Also Large Ray will be holding an event in the Spring

CowasockeeSteve; maybe in some magazines... i dunno, though. the ones i saw were some we sold at the shop BITD. i think it was actually after the collapse of hutch 'cuz the only reason we got them was a distributor was blowing out all the hutch stuff they had left for next-to-nothing.
i'm pretty sure the green and blue were the same shades that Windstylers came in.

Shedder - I just thought that was a funny way to say shed...most of the time they wind up pretty rusty when they've been in there for a long time.
In other words, Looks good!
