great pics. this is why i dig this site so much.
humidity saC
Yep, it's why I am still around this site. Stay away from the drama threads and the ebay garbage and just give me cool stuff from back in the day with cool guys. Minnesota Faction is the bomb!

just an old pic of my killing my ankles. it seemed so much higher back then. i sure do miss those old g banks.
STRIKE
Time to start this baby back up again. I have my scanner out and a few handfuls of mediocre SE MN freestyle photos to scan. I'll be adding pics to this thread periodically, so check back often! With that said, here we go!

Scott with an X-up endo. Don't blame him for the helmet and pads, he was just riding the quarter pipe and I said "hey, do something", then snapped a few pics.

Back when I was in college, John Mulhouse sent me a few random pictures (for a zine we did maybe?). Anyway, here's one of them.

saC takes a break from falling riding, that's Avi's Haro in the foreground.

DitchWeed
Avi!

Jeez, what happened to that cat!?

Remember how he went from being barely able to do a tailwhip to doing hang fives and rope-a-ronis in the space of a summer?

Keep em coming peeps!
STRIKE
I'm pretty sure he started playing Hockey for the HS team and just didn't have time to ride anymore. That reminds me of another guy we used to ride with waaaay back in the day, Brian Larson. He started playing football in HS and essentially stopped riding cold turkey.

I think you're right!

Scary how fast he got good though....
King of Pipeline
Looking forward to seeing some never before seen photo's for sure. Time to bring it back to where it started... I'll even jump in on this one....
humidity saC
I will try to find some more too. I know I have a ton in a Vans box somewhere.

Here's a few more from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.

My friends Jason Risk and Murray Halpin with some dueling lawnmowers...

Don't laugh..

This is the only thing that resembles an action shot of me..

It was around 87-89 on my GT World Tour

Whew, great pictures guys!

Here's one of me jumping and KoP staring in amazement.

I know Charter Communications connection speed suxx, but jeez....

Nice to see ya here though bro!

STRIKE
Ditch, yeah, that's the same jump, I'm just hitting it from a different direction I guess and Jerry is right, it was HOT that day ugh.

Scott, nice to see you drop in. I'm hopeful that you have some cool stuff that I haven't seen before. I'll post one of you on your Schwinn MTB lol, the one of you showing the camera your abs. tongue.gif

The day after I posted this, I happened upon the one and only picture I have of Brian Larson. Not very exciting, but it might jog the memories of a few SE MN people.

From L to R - Ditchweed on his Trickstar II, Keith Kwan and Avi caught posing.

Right before this picture humidity saC said something to the effect of "you have to take a picture of me with my Dyno for legendary status, oh and my Pepsi!". Here it is, for legendary status.

Here's a shot of me riding UP the ramp you see in the background of this shot.
DitchWeed
Keith Kwan....jeez, forgot him!

That Master youre riding in the last pic, I believe I bought/traded you......

I'm riding it in the x-up endo pic a few pages back.

The backyard ramp setup was killer...made me wish I could ride vert BITD, but alas, just flatland for me!

Remember John Haggard's friend Tony on that ramp? He came down form Duluth or Fargo or something once or twice...he was getting a good 5-6 feet out from what I remember....

Nice Jean Jacket, sAc.....school pictures that day? LOL

not like I can talk with the mesh fingerless gloves I'm sportin' in the top pic!!!! What a jagoff I was.....

Strike, that must have been a great day with those shorts. I demand more outtakes.. That kick turn shot is one of the best shots, to ever hit the net...
oldprobmx
I just spent about 20 minutes going thru the entire thread this has got to be one of the all time greatest threads. I only wish that BITD I would have taken more pics of us freestyling, I have a ton that my dad took of racing but very few of freestyle. Here is one of the few I guess my dad needed to end a roll of film and asked me to do a trick in the backyard, thanks guys for sharing all the great memories.

This is a shot that I got of my cousin and his friend Hal

STRIKE
oldprobmx, thanks for contributing to the thread. Yeah, I'm glad we took so many pictures, it's like going back in time looking through them all. I still have so many to post, unfortunately the remainder aren't nearly as artful as some of the other shots I've posted, but they're memories, and worth posting (in my mind).

I'm glad you're digging the thread, hopefully we can keep it going for a while! biggrin.gif
rick kast
gregg, that's some interesting cable routing you got there in the 82 endo basement shot.
keep 'em coming.

Could this be the coup de grāce?
briverson
i will throw one out there. this is me at Washington High School in Phoenix Arizona. i met Dizz Hicks here and had one hell of a summer. learned lots and then CW decided to sign and off to tour he went. i will up load more old school freestyle and when i say first generation haro freestyle, I MEAN FIRST generation. i rode the first haro freestyler to be in Arizona and it was love from there on. the photo shows me on mt dyno with cw forks which i rode while i rode on the FREESTYLIN' trick team out of Tempe/Mesa area. Scott Gearing and i used to travel all over the valley to ride ramp after ramp and pool to empty house pool. anyone out there ever ride Ray Taeze's(not spelled right) ramp in gelndale? great half pipe that had one side not quite vert on it. how about dead cat? anyone remember Jim Roberson, Scott (damn can't remember his last name) with dark hair and ripped on a ramp.

enough for now. good talking at you all.

Cheers
Brian

I remember those Rockville days like they were yesterday. Good to see you back Ron!

We need to get together and ride again soon.
King of Pipeline
Yes another Strike shot, with the shorts on.... Even doing the foot touch to add.... Those shots rule..
STRIKE
Very nice stuff guys, glad to see some everyday people that got thier pics in the magazines. That's a great accomplishment!
STRIKE
I'll just keep adding pictures of myself until someone from my crew finally uploads some pics into this thread. All of the following are from 1983 and are taken by Scott. Nothing very spectacular, but just adding them for posterity.

that is so sweet to llok at. i can remember this photo like it was yesterday. us in Arizona were always asking why the pictuers were coming out of your area. you guys ripped. what a fun time to be involved. think of all the changes we have all seen. i start in late 70's when i saw Bob Haro on a kids show on saturday morning cartoons. all of a sudden this guy does this bunny hop 180 to roll back. blew my mind.

Cheers

I remember that jump at the end of the street. Back when I bought the heaviest bike known to man and could maybe get 4 inches off that thing.
DitchWeed
Dennis!

Good to see you here!! Remember that time we videotaped Tom interviewing you? Well I found the tape! I'll post it to youtube if you'd like!

Rich

p.s. Still got your old bike?
King of Pipeline
The shot from top of the quarterpipe is extremely stoke. Look how sweet that bike is. Nice color on that shot and the angle is perfect.... that's one of the best ones i've seen so far..
azaussie
OK, let's see if I can post some early to late '80's freestyle - Aussie style.

The 6 foot air is Scott Eddington performing at Expo '88 - I forget the size of the crowds but it was packed (maybe 5,000 - 6,000 people).

The color shot is me back in the mid 80's - ya gotta love the race inspired gear.

The no footer is my little brother Tony at a show in the mid 80's.
azaussie
Here is my other brother, Troy doing a toe touch kick turn at a show at an indoor mall on the Gold Coast back in the mid '80's.
Haro#7

Hey Ditch! No I do not remember that interview. Go ahead and post it, I could use the laugh. and no, no longer have my bike, though I believe a member here has it, he lives in alaska, and if he is reading this (cause I cannot remember the username) shoot me a pm
STRIKE
Three photos of myself, and the last is one I took of humidity saC in college. I'm not entirely sure why he has black eyes though.

King of Pipeline
Great shots once again. That top photo is sick... That balance move is amazing. Not sure if you pulled that off... Check out the annoucer,,, those shorts and socks.
I don't remember your bike looking that way, Blue mags and red tires..
But most of all, I give you major props for risking it all, with that balance move.....
STRIKE
You know me, I always was a real risk taker. rolleyes.gif
