Looking for some cool ideas about how to build this custom 26" Mongoose frame. I also had a 26" Redline
nickel fork built for it.

Definitely needs to be a 70's build and probably not nickel plated, I want some color on it.

It has an original style coaster brake tab and no brake bridge.

Any cool ideas?

Anybody found a blue powder coat color that gets close to the early Mongoose Motomag blue frame color?

That is such an awesome F/F set.
Can't wait to see it built.
Personally I am a sucker for candy blue on those frames!

I agree, the candy looks amazing on old mongeese.

Very cool. The yellow goose always looks good. Who did the frame?

Man, I've thought about all the old Mongoose colors. IMO, there was never a bad looking
early Mongoose. I think I've matched the early blue color perfectly, but I don't know if I want to use it.

So I'm still trying to decide on a color while I'm choosing the parts to build it.

Greg, that's what my little girl says about everything whenever you ask her to
choose a color.
Severely faded red anodizing is the closest I've ever gotten to having pink on any
of my bikes.... smile.gif

Is this one of the frames ROC had built? Cool project, I like red...

Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally got it built and it is definitely a sweet riding big ol'goose.
I built to ride, not be a show bike (as you can see, I'm pulling my daughter's trailer)
I kept the 70's influence and used some super long Ashtabulas, Shimano MX hubs, and Messinger saddle.
The only thing I'm missing is the RECO mfg sticker. (I bought some of Bill's very first stickers and he hadn't printed
the RECO stickers, yet)

I'm very, very happy with the candy red...

Thanks.

It's a retro. Just one of several projects I've been needing to finish.
