I don't have any. Someone else might have video of someone riding it from last weekend.

It might only be me, but that video looked trippy. Ha. And the doubles on the second straight still look pretty close.
Bmx Prof
The second straight doubles are close together....BUT the flow between the two is much better. The second set is more like a step as the front side is about 8-10 inches shorter than the back (not huge, but noticeable). The length of each set increases by 3 feet. The first set is 24ft. The second is 27ft. and the triple into turn two is 30ft. You need to hit them well to carry the speed, but it is better suited to hit them well.

The folks that hate the first straight are still going to hate it... AGAIN they added more backside to the table, and it has MUCH BETTER FLOW. If you can get over the mental side of the speed and distance, you will love it.

Nashville is a unique track. It is by no means cookie cutter. It is a pro level track, but all efforts were made to make it safe. In my opinion, the changes that were made did two things (AND mind you... this was not a complete overhaul of the existing track).

1. If made the track flow far better.
2. It decreased the importance of the first straight. It is still a power first straight, but I think the other three straights are far more important now. I predict several come from behind wins as a result of the 3rd and 4th straights.

How is this track on the little guys, sound tough. Will this be a smaller moto count race.

How little? My 8yr old girl loves it. She was catching a little air on the first straight but she is pumping everything else.

She was racing a 6 year old girl who was clipped in and couple of 8 girls who were in their first year in BMX running flats. The two girls on flats were not catching any air. They all did fine.

A really fast 8x nose cased on the last straight during practice and dumped it, but was able to race. I don't recall any other incidents.

Wouldn't surprise me to see similar numbers to Morristown.....I'm gonna say somewhere between 250/300 mottos........

SpeedTech/SSquared will be in the house with about 10/11 guys....

The wild card in turn out this weekend is a lot of northern kids are still in school which makes some parents not want to take time off school when the are in the last weeks. Plus I think some might be afraid of the track. I think it will be somewhere around 240. I thought Posder springs ws going to be a bigger turn out. I think if it was three weeks later you could get closer to 300 motos.
andrewlester453
Music City has seen alot of changes on and off of the track. Including: Tamed down tabletop, taller 1st double in 2nd straight, 30ft Triple before 2nd turn, Last straight= double, table, double , NEW Concession Stand, Gravel Paths, Tore the tower down (makes the track 10 times more visible from the 1st straight fence) And none of it could have been done without Tommy Jacobs and all the board members and the Volunteers!! These are the people that make this track one of the Best Tracks in the NATION!!!! They did an AWESOME job in preparing this track for the national, and i believe like Ken Spring said there will be alot of 3rd and 4th straight come backs. Cant wait to bang bars at the MUSIC CITY NATIONALS!!!! WHERE YOU GONNA BE AT??????
czbmx
Since our practice got rained out last night we will have practice tonight, Wednesday 630-930 PM $5.

This is one of the main reasons we are missing it this year. sad.gif

While I'd like to see this race be 300+ motos, I think the Morristown race scared off a lot of people. It was a legit National.

However, I can tell you that all of the people that have worked on the track have it dialed in. It is smooth, fast, and fun. Tommy and crew worked hard to ensure that there is plenty of shaded spots for tents and chairs in the pits.

The removal of the tower makes it way easier to see the track. Sitting on the first straight you can now clearly see the racing action on the first and sceond straights (you will see the Pro's tame the table... several pull manual it!), with some limited views of the third and fourth. Sitting on the fourth straight, you can catch everything but the gate start.

Remember the track is in a park, on a lake. Oh... and Nashville has MUSIC too. For those of you interested in catching some tunes while you are in town... here are some ideas. Believe it or not we are not simply country music... as 3 of the largest rock bands reside here (Jack White, The Black Keys, and The Kings of Leon). However here are some shows to consider this weekend:

Friday June 1.
Country music... Grand Ole Opry has Pam Tillis, Vince Gill, and Ralph Stanley on Friday night.

For more authentic country.... try the Wheel on broadway downtown for Slim Chance and the Can't Hardly Playboys.

Saturday June 2.
Indie Hipsters the All American Rejects play a free show at Opry Mills Mall.

Rockabilly faves Hillbilly Casino play at 3rd and Lindsley.

The Ryman (former downtown location of the Grand Ole Opry) has Todd Snyder and Justin Townes Earle (son of Steve Earle).

Sunday June 3. (should you choose to stick around)

Metal rockers Corrosion of Conformity at the Exit /In

These are but a few of the many great shows worth catching. I can recommend more if desired.

Is there a list of host hotels anywhere? Can't seem to find it..... of course theres always google.
And yes, I know I'm a little late to be just thinking about a hotel..........

NEVERMIND - I found it. Good night.

I was just out at the track. Factory row is shaping up nicely. There is more room for tents and pit areas than any year that I can recall.
The track looks fantastic.

The local weather is reporting big storms tonight through the morning... then SUNSHINE all weekeend. The are predicting a high of 80 on saturday. I heard that they may cover the track tonight. However, it usually takes SEVERAL days of rain to impact it. The track has been soiltac'd. Have no fear that they will take the necessary precautions to keep the track in shape. The volunteers were still working hard out there this morning.

Track held up great in the rain last night. Sunny the rest of the weekend!

MCB looks great, The track is dialed and super fast and smooth.. I have to say it's the best it's ever been the whole place looks amazing.. The Local crew pulled out all the stops for this one.. The weather is going to perfect for some great racing this weekend....

I'm calling 262 motos for tomorrow. Should be a good one.

I just keep on remembering the Murray WC races, the international races & the NBL grands race at this track. Not sure if any track has this kind of history. Would love to be there myself again... Ah life & a kid graduating from high school.

I agree Will.

The entire weekend was impressive. You had riders from all over. It ran smooth, long..., but smooth. I think 254 motos was a solid turn out, However, I would expect that next year it will be bigger. I think being one week after the worlds, and a few weeks before the olympics impacted the numbers some. That said, I only heard positive things from folks all weekend. Classes were difficult, track was dialed, vendors in force, lots of room for parking and pits...

Great job to all those who helped pull it off.
SirMarco
What a weekend.
To bad I didn't get to race. First lap in Saturday's cruiser practice, my chain snapped when I landed the table in the first straight sending me OTB. Shoulder is jacked and I'll be out for a few weeks now. Oh well. It was great seeing some old friends and spending time DT Nashville.

Yeah it sucks but it's part of this game. You win some you loose some. This time I lost. It was good seeing you also. It's been a long time. I'll be around more this year. Even though I didn't get to race, it was nice being back at a big national.

Great weekend of racing at Music City! Had a great time watching Jeff Upshaw ride (amazing skill). My 8yr old son is a big Upshaw fan. Got a pic with them together and he signed his jersey. "Dad, Upshaw asked me what class I raced, and told me good luck and do my best." Happy kid.
Danny C. and Weston Pope were both great with the kids during the clinic. Funny when the kids swarmed the Dan's tent after the clinic. Noticed a lot of the pros being cool with the kids this weekend. Just one more great thing about BMX!
Hope to see some video posts later if you have them. I know many of us older guys are still in recovery mode today. Hope everyone had fun and safe trips home. drinks.gif

That may have something to do with the park. I have no idea on that. However, your post prompted me to look at the KOA campgrounds right up the road from the track to check their prices. For just tent camping and no hook ups it was:

Estimated Total For Your Stay*
US$98.30

At that price, it is worth getting a hotel.

Anyway, aside from the parking fee (I paid it is as well, as did my girlfriend and friends who drove seperately to watch for the weekend), I think it was a great event.
