I have a '92 S&M Pitchfork 1st gen which I would like to install in a '96 1 1/8" threadless headtube Dirtbike frame.
What do I need to do this ?
I believe it can be done and done properly.

just reverse to process that has been discussed regarding doing the opposite (1 1/8" fork into 1" frame).
use a combination of parts from a 1" beartrap (or similar) and a non-cartridge 1 1/8" diacompe/diatech headset.
use the pieces from each headset that properly fit to part they were intended to. you may have to "loose-pack" the bearings (no retainers).
