Full Version: Should I be elected to the ABA BMX Hall of Fame?
VintageBMX.com > VintageBMX Talk > Freestyle BMX
twintoptuber
People from around the world still email me about my contribution to the freestyle world and many have indicated that I should be named to this prestigious club. Let's consider the following:

- I, along with a very small handfull of vintage freestyle illuminati, built the foundation for the vintage freestyle scene. We took a very important aspect of cycling and created new interest in a dead scene. Our ability to look into the past and foster a resurgence of design, community, and respect for a forgotten history is unparalleled in this industry.

- Built the greatest vintage freestyle collection......ever.

- My collection has single handidly been the most recognized and awarded collection at Rockford (nobody has or will be able to win as many Best in Shows). I only name Rockford because it's the only credible show in the vintage scene, the rest (especially those on the west coast) are just nice gatherings.

- My love of the scene has inspired countless present day companies to re-release, reproduce, and/or re-create vintage freestyle inspired products.

To honor every future recipient of the best in vintage freestyle award (to be renamed the Twintoptuber Excellence in Design Award), their name would be inscribed on a beautiful silver trophy to be shared with next year's winner much like the Stanley Cup.

Ooops, fixed that for ya James.

You do realize that it's not the ABA BMX Hall of Fame anymore don't you?

You also need to be elected by your peers. You can't vote yourself in.........

No. None of your bikes have had good enough bunnyhopping geometry or the requisite speedometer.

Anyone can reproduce a bike from pictures? I wonder if eggo waffles were as egotistical as your ego James. They certainly are delicious waffles but still there just a waffle....like you...with lots of squares! tongue.gif sarcastic_hand.gif

Man, ol James sure knows how to do a once a year drive by.

Last years "retro copies" he was gonna make went epic. I'm pretty sure some people were crying while typing.

Blob,

If that's the case, why do you insist on building such turds? I'm not picking on you and your disability, but I couldn't count the times I thought about traveling to Florida to fix your builds after you posted pics. After my initial burst of generousity (I mean, WoW! for you that you would get the opportunity to build with a future Hall of Famer), I always took a step back and thought, "Twin, you know everyone is just going to think you're cocky so let the Franken-bikes be Franken-bikes."

What I also find odd is how you constantly follow me around the bmx community. However, this is the very definition of a Hall of Famer..................

The fans
Being admired for your accomplishments
To transcend all of the other builds and envy

Now in my retirement, I embrace your dedication to my vintage existance. Without you and so many other fans, I wouldn't be Hall of Fame worthy.

Greg Hill still hasn't recovered from it all. Last I heard, he was canvassing every Asian factory threatening to sue them if they fabricated the Anita Hill model. Still don't understand what my products had to do with his poorly designed dinosaurs. wacko2.gif

Truth be told, my last build, the GHP Trix was my favorite. Attach a clear chain guard and some reflectors and I would feel like a kid again riding that scoot.

Just a thought? Also your so called Franken bikes that I have done!....I’m not sure of what all you mean unless your talking about some of your first builds like your Haro and the later VDC....but that’s cool...the only crazy builds I really ever did were done with whom I thought had talent Lou...thanks for the paint jobs! James please don’t go and dog his work now! The fact that you and a few others here glorified someone’s Powder coating ability....Wow talk about kiss axing.....Come on James when in a fight bring a gun because you from the looks of it ...all your lacking is training wheels.....you already have the chain guard and reflectors...just need an oversized helmet for your bobble head!

If your just looking to get arise out of the community that’s so like James and I know from knowing you personally this is what you are looking for….You must be board at home with the fake career that you aspire to have. If I’m wrong than PLEASE except my humble apologies from the BOTTOM of my REDLINE 401 dimpled spindle and Heart, don’t forget the phone calls you and I had about many ideas …way before you and others put them into motion…..Think about it James…I’m really the only reason you keep coming around! That’s why you commented on my comment and I thank you for your appreciation.

So Cheers to you twin top bunk bed wetter….And don’t forget your Detrol.

Hahahaha, emotional "I want to be like you guys" meltdown. I have a sneaky feeling that you belonged to the Lambda fraternity. I'm told by U.N. Jefferson that Blob is not in the photo because he's taking the pic:

Thanks for the vote support guys, let's do this for next year!

I thought I sensed a "disturbance in the force". I had a strange urge to check in after months away. It just so happens to coincide with the annual James' "stirring of the pot" thread.

I love it!

My bikes all have cyclometers on them now, collecting has come full circle James. Gone are the days when a BMX bike can be displayed without the ubiquitous "bike computer". Don't get me started on the bunnyhops.

DansHaros
James has my vote! Hands down!

Is that what you look like when you're passing a crazy chain?

Hey James, I'm still waiting for you to return the parts that you borrowed on the Pink Trickstar, VDC and GHP. Please let me know when your done with them so I can keep an eye out!!!!

All I want to know is...... has anyone got some redline bars for sale?
Greg_Hanna
That was a JOKE!

PS

James, I really should have listened to you about a couple things.......My portfolio is not looking as good as it could have. I left lots of money at the table.
