are there anymore oics of tim's bike anywhere ?
Possibly, if you look hard enough. The sad thing about most of these websites is that if the person who posts a picture makes any changes to their photo-hosting link, then that picture will no longer show up in that post. That is why so many of the old threads no longer have the pictures that go with the story. To me that is sad because the pictures are what I enjoy about these places.
Now then, BLACKENED SKY, that is a treasure you have there. Being that I was very close to the inception of that frame and friends with the Ames family I really appreciate its roots. The fork you have there is a Cook Brothers. Everything else is typical quality parts you would find on a little kids bike from that time frame.
I am by no means an authority on the whole Pedals Ready GT/CYC/GT timeline, but I am very confused by all the stickers on yours.
My memory is; Gary Turner built the smaller size frame for his son and the larger size for his little brother. My sponsor at the time owned a bike shop at his track (Western Sports Arama) called Pedals Ready Pro Shop. I do not remember if it was just Bill Hemrick or John Hill, (or both) but someone worked out a deal with Gary to build the frames and market them thru the shop. The partnership did not last long, Gary took his design back and eventually created GT.
I do know someone who might be able to shed a little more light on this. Adam Cox (JMC/ACE) rode for JMC in the early days before Jim built his own frame they rode the Pedals Ready GT frame. I might be seeing him next weekend and will ask him some questions.
