Hey everyone, my name is Matt Reilly and I have been lurking in from time to time for the last six weeks and finally decided to jump on in here. I started racing towards the end of the '86 season at age 4 and ended my career after the '98 Grands at 16. I raced for Cool Boys from '89 through '95 and then for Big E and the gang (Powerlite) '96, '97, and '98. I quit so I could focus my senior year on football, but for a couple of summers after that I did some small clinics for the beginners out at the track and weekly training sessions for a few young guys getting into the national seen. My dad is Jim Reilly (the ABA announcer) and my grandfather, Harry Diehl, owned Cool Boys from '90 to '97, operated Blue Springs BMX from '88 to '99 and was inducted into the track operaters Hall of Fame at the 2009 Grands. So to say the least, BMX was not just a pretty big deal to me and my family, it was a way of life! After attending the Grands last year and poking in and out of this site, the 'ol BMX blood has started to run through my veins again. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and say that I'm looking forward to chattin' with ya'll.

Welcome to the site Matt. I remember you, knew you had a cover or two & found this in my collection.

If you have been lurking then you've been to the Race section, i'm sure alot of people still know who you are in there.
BTW, this is the Jan/Feb. 1995 issue of the BMXer. Is that a Mongoose your riding?

Wow!! Been a while since I took a look at that one. That's a Mongoose Solution I picked up at the beginning of the '94 season because I had outgrown my Titan expert XL (Back then referred to as a Titan IV). I had only ridden Titans from the age of 5 (Titan mini, mini cruiser, Titan II, Titan III, Titan IV, and Titan expert cruiser) I didn't like the Solution too much because I was used to the slower steering, raked out fork, of the Titans. I actually ended up getting one of the first Cannondales made in February of '95 because it had similar head tube and fork angles as the Titans. I just switched everything from the Solution on that cover to the Cannondale f/f and actually still have it. Thanks for reminding me of a great old memory!!
