I have tried searching for this topic, but couldn't find an answer. I have a schwinn pro modified cruiser that is anodized black. It has the type of decals that you have to soak in water before you put them on. On one side of the downtube the decals crumbled off when I cleaned it with a damp rag, leaving pieces of letters that looks like crap.

How can I clean the remnants of the decals off without screwing up the nice black anodize underneath?

Thanks,
Chris

I would suggest getting an eraser wheel from an automotive paint supply place. They attach to a drill or air die grinder and should safely remove the decals.
