Apologies if this has been posted previously -- I don't get in the freestyle forum much. Check out the link, Spike Jonze, Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine are releasing this film this year:

I still have 4" x 4" pics of him riding for Skyway at my local show. He was so intense even back then.....

The thing about Mat Hoffman,, he's probably the coolest pro there has ever been... When I met him, and really talked to him for awhile, he's everything you'd hope he'd be...

Oklahoma, the land of Hoffman, Flaming Lips, Chainsaw Kittens, Noodling, James Garner (Rockford Files!) and all sorts of under the radar coolness. I am proud of my state because everyone thinks it sucks, but we know better and it rocks!
BTW, I used to work with Steve Swope's wife in the mid 1990s and she told me that even back then Hoffman could not lift his arms over his head due to all of the injuries he incurred from his ramp insanity. If that does not indicate dedication, then I don't know what freakin' does. Hoffman BROUGHT it like no one ever did or dares to do now.

Had a chance to meet Mat at Alvin' s house last year and get a picture.
Very nice down to earth person.
If you haven't done so yet, read his biography,"The Ride of my Life".
Great book talks about all kinds of interesting things.
The business of building bikes, BASE Jumping, The giant ramp, the giant halfpipe, the weedwacker bike, marriage and children.
I'm sure the film will not dissapoint anyone.

Cant wait for it pretty sure they have been working on it for a few years so its gonna be good. I think its supposed to contain the last ever interview with Evel, talking about Mat of course. They are going to make us wait till around x-games for release i bet.

HECK YES!!!! Mat IS BMX freestyle. There are many riders I look up to in this sport, past and present, but none, and I mean NONE, are anywhere near Mat. He gave it his all. As crazy as the tricks now days are I cant help but wonder what would be going down if we had a guy like Mat in the sport right now. The closest present time guy I see that has a great attitude, isnt afraid to go huge and deal with the consequences afterwards is Morgan Wade, but even he hasnt done as much for the sport as Mat did/does. I have so much respect for Mat. From teaching himself to drive a semi just so he could go on the road to do shows when BMX was dead, to his pioneering riding, to starting his own bike company when NOBODY was spending money in the sport, to literally dying (Yes dying... he flatlined after a gnarly crash on the 21 foot half pipe. Read the book) for his love of the sport...All Hail the KING!
