i was thinking of trying to rid some weight off of my ride.
Anyone using the Profile crank GDH Ti axle? are they strong?
Experiences and Pro's and Cons welcome.

Thanks,

i haven't used one but the weight savings to me isn't justified
$140 to save 3.1oz over the regular GDH just doesn't sound economical to me

heck even spending the $140 to upgrade from the original chromo spindle, saving you then 6oz, is still crazy to me but if you got the money to burn go for it

would it be better for you to buy lighter hoops or tires, something "more" rotational weight to shave that few ounces off, thats where i'd stick my money personally

thanks for the advice, i have mongoose proclass rims. i don't know of any hoops lighter that can hold my 220 plus pounds.

I am 210lbs and have a cr-mo on my cruiser and the ti on my 20". I can't tell if one is flexing more than the other, i was worried about the ti with my weight being over 200 lobs but so far it is holding up great. I think mine is about 6 years old.

Im using the Stolen BMX ti spindle, which is profile compatible. Same weight and spec just alot cheaper...

cons: "profile wobble"

i had profiles a few years ago. at first i was proud, because they used to be really expensive over here, but after a few months i had noting but problems with them. i have redline flights at the moment and i don't think i will ever get another set of 48 splined cranks again.

if i had to buy new cranks, then i'd probably get a set of these with either a 7k series alloy spindle or a hollow ti one:

I was 240 LBS in november of last year I ran Sun Ringle Envy Hoops w/ Ti spoke on my cruiser with noth probs. Lightest rotational weight you can have.

As far as the Ti GDH Spindle I would not because I think that the regular GDH is light enough but if you want to burn the cash then go for it what's the worst that can happen? A flexxy spindle. I'd stick with the regular GDH.
