Im new here, and I'm still a noob at bmx, but what was the difference between the 1987 GT Pro Performer and the regular GT Performer? I'm building up a Pro Performer and the stickers say "Hunting Beach Ca." and "Pro Performer" and "4130" and I was wondering if it makes it any more rare or such?

Thank you,
Koya

In '87, the Pro Performer had 2 bends in the down tube, like an "s" shape kind of, bend at the top and bend at the bottom. They still used the single bend down tube just at the top for the regular performers. There might be differences in the material also, but just off the top of my head I know that much.

The Pro Performer was 100% cromoly while the Performer was tri-moly.

Thank you very much people. I was suspicious because everyone told me performers were Tri-Moly, but mine said 4130 Chromoly. 1 more question. Is there any difference in vaue, or where they like better for freestyle?
Pauly
The Pro Performer/Pro Freestyle tour has a steeper head tube angle and better overall geometry.

Are you sure the Performer frame you have is an 87? It would have cable guides on the downtube if it is.

87 Performer frames ARE trimoly. Pro Peformer frames are all chromoly. Do you have both a Performer and a Pro Performer? Things you are saying have me a bit confused.

Pro Performers were never Tri-Moly.
'87s were a completely different frame design, and made in the USA.

Pics would help.
