I haven't posted a build for a while, but I hope to have a bunch of new builds to post soon!

It took a while to get the parts for this and I might make a few changes, but I am pretty happy with the way things sit right now. One thing I don't like is how low the rise is on the bars, so they are probably going to go. I also have a set of green SDG pads that match the seat, but I like the "crushed velvet" pads that are on there now (the original owner had em' on the bike). I was also kicking around changing the pedal cages to black haha...Lemme know what you guys think!

Enough talk, here's the parts break down - (Everything is original finish)

Frame: Technique Pro XL in original finish
Fork: Bombshell F117 Carbon triple clamps
Hubs: Technique carbon w/anno green flanges
Cranks: Technique single pinch (not "era correct" for the frame, but it's the only green set of technique cranks I have ever seen - THANKS PJ CRUISER!)
Sprocket: Technique
Bars: Redline
Grips: ODI longneck
Pedals: Crupi
Headset: Chris King
Brakes: Brooklyn machine works w/tektro lever
Stem: Answer Stubbie
Padset: ?? Probably custom made
Seat: SDG slimjim
Post: generic
Tires: Maxxis holy roller

Thanks Mike, Jason sent me pics and I KNEW I had to see better shots...this thing is off the hook!! You know talking to me for sometime now that I love Techniques...well, this is probably the sickest one I have seen.

Question, the cranks annodize look, well, normal and the frame annodize looks so dark, almost like paint. Is it the lighting? I would love to see a daylight pic.

Alex, It's so off the hook, to changit in order to fully match might be to take away from it.

I love it just the way it is. The forks are over the top, but so is the rest of the bike.

Then with the crazy plate and front view, the viewer becomes aware that his senses have intentionally been assaulted.

It's totally sick.

Not asking for a change, just wondering if its the lighting or if the shades of annodizing are indeed two different depths.

I cant believe the matching hubs too...awesome!

The anodizing is different. There are probably two reasons for that. 1. The cranks are single pinch and are 1st generation and the frame was made at the end of Technique's run just before they closed the doors. They may have changed the process or decided that they wanted to make a deeper green. Also if you don't anodize everything in the same "batch" there is a chance that it won't match perfectly. 2. The cranks have been ridden and raced a lot. So they have been out in the sun and some fading has taken place as a result.

The story goes like this. The original owner ordered the frame, hubs, and a set of cranks from technique - all anodized green. When the cranks arrived, one of the pedal threads was all jacked up, so he called technique and they told him to send them back and they would take care of it. At the time he send the crank arm back, technique was shutting the doors and they never sent him replacement cranks! ohmy.gif It would have been nice to have them all the same deep green ano, but it is what it is...If a deep green set pops up, I will be all over em! But until then, these will do...

That is absolutly amazing. The handlebars fit the time period, if your looking for a change maybe some Answer Aluminites?
Also, I would LOVE to get my hands on a SDG sparkle saddle in grey/silver or red.
AND.....I just got back a set of Technique 178mm polished aluminum cranks in mint shape I had loaned to a friend & thought they were gone. cool.gif

Bnd,

I have silver/red sdg pads, but they are currently on two of my builds. Check on ebay often, they do pop up from time to time. I would love to have some parts back that I've "lost" over the years! biggrin.gif
