I met Jeff tonight at the track and talked to him for several minutes, nice guy. I got to say in person this is a nice bike. I would have loved to ride it, Jeff offered but I did not take him up on it.

Just an update, We currently have all the tubing to start making the first 100 limited edition chromoly frames. Ill post up a flyer tomorrow afternoon with all the info on the frames. But for now here is a pic of our first proto of the aluminum frame out that has been and is still being tested at the local track along with some other stress testing done in the shop.

Hi Guys,
Hate to be a big meanie here, but in the recent posts there were more than one "offers for sale"
"Here's how to buy one and how much they cost" kinds of posts.
Obviously, you know that Vintage is an advertiser-supported community. There a couple start up companies who recognized, up front, that advertising here would be the best investment they could make with their marketing bucks. Allowing non-advertisers to post their "buy it now" links, would be a disservice to the guys over there who keep the proverbial lights on here. ------------------------->
And when I say "here," I mean on all five of our related sites.
That's right! One investment gets your ad on all five of our sites (Vintage, BMXNEWS, BMXNOW, BMX Action Online and PhotosArePosted.com) It is priced very reasonably, so it is approachable by the startup who is looking to make the most fire with the few matches they have in the early days.
I am not quite sure who the big cheese is at Jad--it seems like a couple people are posting "buy it now," so I'm not sure to whom ad info can be sent...which is why I am posting this here (and so people don't have to wonder "what happened to my posts?"). Hit me with a PM and I will send you the full details.
All that said, I think the frames look awesome! It is great to see Jad back in the gate, and I look forward to helping you guys get more of them out there!
Best,
M

Please strap this to a real test rig and do fatigue testing on it.
I hope they last forever and are the best thing since the cheeseburger, but structurally, these have a lot of disadvantages. There is every reason for them to fail at the seat tube, where the post insertion ends or at the TT weld, whichever is higher.
The black one early in the thread had a pseudo-downtube to try to prevent the failure I'm describing.
In spite of the warning, I do wish y'all great success.

Mike,
Sorry about anything that I have posted. I honestly didnt know that you couldnt post info on the sale of our frames. Im new to the site and will no longer do that. I will be contacting you soon to possibly do some advertising on here Legally lol or you can send the info to me so i can talk to the bossman to get funding for it. All in all like I said before sorry for any hassle that Ive caused.

Im not quite sure of the name of the gauge but we have one at the shop that will measure the force and how many pounds of pressure before the frame fractures. We will be testing an aluminum one next week. Im personally riding a chromoly one and have been for a couple months and have been riding it at our local skatepark and track and its still holding up and riding like a dream.

I am also 200+ pounds, mediocre skills at the most, and smooth as a rock pile and have had no problems on his Chromo JAD either. And believe me we have tried to break it, literally!

OK, that's cool. I only mention it because compete faith in the design is good for JAD and everybody who rides one. I'm all for non-traditional designs.
Since you're going to a new material on an existing design, AND ALUMINUM HAS A MUCH SHORTER FATIGUE LIFE, I'm suggesting you put it in a test rig that will put thousands of cycles on the frame to determine how it compares to proven designs. For example, paper-thin aluminum frames can be plenty strong, but are prone to cracking under extended use because of the material's short fatigue life.

No worries,
the site rules are tough to find, unless you're looking for them (at the very top, just under the VBMX Logo, under "Terms and Conditions).
Glad to hear you'll be working us into your marketing plan. I can't tell you how many would-be frame makers come to me at the races and say "oh yeah, we're gong to be advertising...but right now, we're putting everything back into the company." I want to jump up & down and scream "DUDE!!! Marketing IS the most important thing in "Putting it back into the company. You don't HAVE a company unless you have sales." 9 times out of 10 you never see them, or their product ever again.
I'll send the info via PM. Thanks for being cool about it!
Best,
M

Bystickel has some very good points - load testing a frame one time can show you the amount of force required to deform or break the weakest spot but it is dependant on how the force is applied in relationship to the frame itself. It can be used to see where a failure point is based upon how the load is applied but this may not be the only failure point, if you think of pedaling the forces are not linear as in a load test. A cyclically fatigue test would show a real world affect of riding the bike, jumping, side loads even braking. Aluminum has a "life span" the heat treatment process can dramatically influence the the strength and weakness of the material every "batch" may vary between raw materials and processes. Also the design of the frame at points can be to rigid and may induce cracking or to weak and cause excessive flex, so there are many variables in the whole thought process.
Just my thoughts though.........

dude i have seen them go for 350 plus. They have ti spindles and nice metal. It looks like they are tuff but dont know. But if you buy them for 50 i will offer 150 to you.
So really let be honest are they good quality or not ? i am not a bigprofile fan love bullseye cranks and trying to get a set of pmc cranks those are crazy. if any one has a set hit me up. and any info on jad cranks let me know asap. in the middle of a deal on them.

there is a dude on bmx museum selling a set of 180 jad cranks with power disc polished. very nice guy and very nice set for 350. so check it out if you are after that product line. dont know much kinda scattered info on the company with alot of variances. i gave up on pmc's, hard to find and uncertain about the design. i am waiting for good deal, too pricey for the risk. plus converting to bearing is gonna cost more. i did see a sherman still for sell and cheap too on same site. good luck guys.
