hey all! just looking for some friendly advice as I introduce myself.
Just turned 32 and looking to get back into BMX after a twenty year stint on mtb's. I have been trying out some friends and local kids bikes out around the area and think I really want a 24. I'm not looking to break the bank as I just bought a new house about a week ago. I'm by no means a big guy at 5'5" and 130lbs. so I know I'll need to look at smaller TT sizes, but I'm unsure what bike to look for. I want to be able to rip around the neighborhood, ride some street stuff, little bit of DJ, and even some smooth singletrack to hit the natural stuff. Basically looking for a do it all bike. I've been looking at 3 bikes in paticular: DK cygnus, SE SoCal Flyer, and the Mirraco 24. Any suggestions or opinions would be very helpful. I'm trying to keep it around $350, so I don't need some bling bike when I can always upgrade as stuff goes out on me. Just trying to get back to the simplicity and fun times we all took for granted as kids. I'm not looking to race just go out and "play" and I want a bike that will treat me kind even when I don't return the favor. Thanx if you made it this far.

Why not a hardtail 26" DJ bike, since you're already a mtb guy.

I guess expense is the first negative.

nah, I don't want suspension and for somebody my size 26" is hard to toss around. I'm by no means a mtb guy, just go randomly while camping and such, more of a snowboarder than anything i suppose.

I'm a fan of 20" (and I'm a little bigger than you) but your "singletrack" factor may lend itself more toward a 24" I guess. Any of those bikes above would be fine. I don't like cruiser that much (although I do ride them) because of the long rear ends. There was a thread on here that talked a little bit about cruisers that ride a lot like 20". I'm not sure which thread that was but somebody around here will know.

Oh yeah, and some 26" are set up really well for BMX (don't feel big) and there are rigid forks for 26" as well.

Sorry, I'm probably muddying the waters more than anything.
