+1 on the Balance!

Balance "Killer Bee" Pro sized model. Late Mid-School frame made for three model years. They made MTB at the same time with a cool red-to-clear, blue-to-clear or purple-to-clear annodizing schemes. The different colors signified production years with the purple-to-clear anno frames are the most rare.

Geometry on those frames was awesome for stability at speed because they were so long. The length made for a more comfortable ride too. Unfortunately, long usually equals slower cornering and tougher manuals.

Not much worth to them though they are relatively rare, lightweight and look to have been fairly reliable.

The biggest design flaw was in the dropouts. The long seat stay tubing was too long and interfered with most chain tensioners.

Cool bikes though. I wish I still had mine.

if you could find Harry Learys Ti-model, it would be worth it.

Agreed. Does anyone have any info on the Ti model? I'll bet there is only one or two if they still exist.

I always thought they were very cool looking bikes. John Purse was really turning on the heat in the pro class when he rode for them. I believe he ran a red to clear model.

Titanium Balance- From Darren Chan "the Dirtwerx frame is actually a Balance ti one that was at the bike show (Interbike) and in BMX PLUS! back when Balance first started. Harry Leary took the frame with him when he went to Dirtwerx".

remember..darren owns pretty much everything so whatever you are looking for is probably in his basement tongue.gif
Fat Man
It kinda looks like one of the airborne Ti frames
