I bought this bike for my nine year old son who wants to start riding more trails and street. He has been racing for a number of years is this a good bike?

Good bike. My 8 yr old rides a 18"DK Intervol - all chromoly for $200. My daughter insisted on a pink or purple (I have no time to powder coat) so I bought her an 18" Eastern Traildigger. I guess because we are BMXers we know and are willing to buy an 18" bike for a better fit. Most parents don't know or care and buy their 8 year old a 20" that they can barely ride.

my son is six and races his in the pit bike races at the track it is really nice all the $200 range ones are only 1 piece cranks so you pay for what you get
