I got lucky. Super lucky. Local park, hit the 16 foot vert, up near the top, came down, one crank, music is blaring Beatie Boys really loud so can't really hear, in the air thought I heard people yelling, I blast, click an x-up, finally realize they are screaming "board", I wonder if it is at me, unclick the x as I come into thelanding, spot riderless skateboard rolling leasurely right in front of me, weigh options and speed, realize no options availlable as I am still in the air about 3 feet from said board, I land about a foot from board, I think man this is gonna hurt, run right over middle of board, wait for board to shoot out and my front to go down hard, thunk, thunk, both tires, roll right up 6 foot quarter right after... realize nothing happened. I go light headed as adrenaline rushes in... Everybody is screaming "ooooooh", i get a couple high fives, boarder comes over and grabs his board which did not even break and skates off. I walk my bike to the lounge area and put it down, and sat and watched a video for about 20 minutes, while my heart quits pounding. Multiple riders come in and tell me how scary that was. I say "I know". I call my wife and tell her, and she tells me to thank the Lord for protection and come home. lol.

whew. I am too old and hurt to be hitting the concrete from a wreck like that. Mark down another bullet dodged.

Yikes!

I had a head on in the flat bottom of a spined mini (dude followed me, didn't think I was coming back). It was one of the scariest moment of riding ever. He bent his forks but we came away unscathed. I was a little younger then too though.

We use a system of "sketch points". You start the session with "X" amount of sketch points, sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less, depending on your mojo that day. When you use up your sketch points you`re going down, no arguing about it. Small little sketches eat up your points a little at a time, big narrow escapes use up a lot at once. Sounds like you used up ALL of yours for that session at once!
