What Dyno models/years were the frames full chromoly?
Pauly
85-86 D-30 frameset / Compe / Compe II both US and Japanese builds
1987 Pro Compe
1988 Pro Compe

Later than 88 I couldn't tell you for sure, but it's probably safe to assume that if it has a Made in USA stamp on it then it's all chromoly... Pro Compes and Slammers at least.

post 86 D-Tour, Detour, Compe are Taiwanese trimoly (at best) frames.
DYNO mite
Yes Pauly is correct...the md school slammers and comps were chromoly...still great bikes!

Great info! Thanks!!!...DYNO mite, when u say the "mid-school" Compes were chromoly, what year range would that be? I always assumed mid-school to be around 93-98. But has anyone ever determined an "actual" mid-school era?

I think I had a 87 red & 88 black pro comp frames they were awesome combined with the 85 pro performer fork! Midschool I would think started in 87 when all the rolling tricks started coming out. dont know what year ends

I consider Mid School starting at 1989-1990 when the Freestyle bottom started falling out. Frames and components really started changing then, especially with street riding, bash guards, beefy tubing, etc.

Yea, I tend to agree. I would actually go a step further and basically call the entire 90's "mid-school". Alot of new companies started in the 90's with beefier tubing on their frames. But the biggest change to me was when some of the existing companies switched to beefier tubing. GT, Redline, Haro, etc. Although Haro used a little thicker tubing on the 91/92 Ground Master, it really wasn't until around 93/94, when the Ultra took the place of the Master with really "beefy" tubing. So I guess that's why I always considered mid-school to pretty much start at around 93'. But like I said, I could easily go along with just saying the entire 90's era.
