I've been in contact with Fiora from the art gallery that represents Grasso's work. For those who might like to help, or not help, I will post what information I have gleaned about the situation, as I made it known that I was asking for details, more or less for myself and the community, to decide if any persons would be willing to help.
I e-mailed her a few days ago asking to see a pic of the shirts for sale, and any information should could tell me about Craig's legal issue. The shirt is OK. Extremely reminiscent of the famous painting by Evard Munch, "The Scream". You've seen it before. She asked me to spread the word to those who might be sympathetic to the cause. So I sent her this in reply:

Fiora,
I've got nothing but good memories of Craig from way back when, and wish him all the best. But several members of the Old School freestyle community (including myself) don't know exactly what cause it is we are supposed to be sympathetic to. We know he's in trouble with the law, and that's it. We don't know what charges he up against and/or what his side of the story is. Frankly, in these times of economic hardship, it's difficult to donate funds when we are completely --and seemingly, intentionally-- being left in the dark about whether we would be helping out an old friend, wrongly accused, or throwing good money after bad. I'm not speaking for everyone of course, but that is the vibe I get on the boards and what I personally feel. I'm not trying to be nosy and/or a gossip, but I think that if someone is asking for help, one should at least have some information about the situation in order to make an informed decision.
I truly hope this works out the best for Craig,
Josh

Here's the situation. The charges are domestic charges. Grasso got into a huge argument with the mother of his 10 year old boy. A neighbor called the cops and due to a not so great record, they took him to jail. The woman has signed a statement claiming that there was no violence involved but the state of Vermont has taken on this case and is pushing for the maximum sentence, 10 years in prison. I have been there, seen all involved parties and have spent time with Grasso's lawyer. The severity of Vermont and domestic violence is NO JOKE and without MAJOR COUNCIL, Craig is looking at a minimum of 5 years in prison. For sure. Time is of the essence to raise lawyer fees (another $ 5,ooo) as the court date is set for 2 weeks from now. I know that Grasso is innocent, I met the girl. Please help me help Grasso as I think that 5 years in prison will be the end of him. Fiora Boes xxxxx

OK, I know what I think about this, and I'm not looking to influence decisions or stir up trouble and start flamewars and crap. There it is.
