I know the Team Rippers lost about a pound or so, going with a simpler design. I do not like the new version as it looks too basic and or thrown together at the joint at the top of the seat tube. The sales may not be there, I don't know, but the PK Ripper should be treated as the flagship.
If you are looking for a really good solution that will sell bikes, drop the back of the top tube down the seat tube (slam the frame) and look back to the early '90s PKs and do something like that. When I look at these new PKs, I am left feeling empty.

that's what i've been saying for years. the mid to late 90s version was perfect and should have never been changed one bit. i really, really regret not getting a pk when they were on sale in like '99.
