Rumors have been swirling since around 2005 that he died. I thought someone sort of confirmed those rumors a couple years ago but I can't find the thread for some reason.
Anyway, I've been exchanging emails with him the last couple days. All of his old bikes were stolen and he recently picked up another. I'm going to hook him up with a set of Odyssey RX-5 levers that he's been desperately searching for.
I told him about vintage and asked him to sign up.

Man, I am so relieved about that. Feel really embarrassed about whatever part I had in it. I'm not 100% sure who I heard it from but I remember thinking "this person knows what he's talking about" and taking it as truth then passing it on in one thread and to a few people personally - one just last weekend.
Ric, glad you're still with us!

I have killer slides from a Mongoose show from the Bronx NYC show in 88. Marty S blasting 8+ plus, Kar Rothe cruising, and Rick A entertaining with the best Miami Hoppers in the business. Good times, welcome to this site.

I was very close to making a tribute bike base on that picture. Picked up a complete FS-1 for $25 a few years ago and that was the plan for it. Always sat on the backburner and I never got around to it and finally sold it.

That's the funny thing. He found me! I posted pictures of parts that I'd be willing to trade for a set of Redline STR bars. Next thing I knew I had an email from a guy claiming to be old pro Rick Allison begging me to sell a set of Odyssey RX-5 levers to him.

Rick was always one of the most entertaining riders to watch. When riding was starting to look all the same, you could count on him to throw in a run full of his individual style and showmanship. Great news for sure.

hey guys ,ya in germany it was sean coons on skate board doing ground tricks,,carabeth berside on ramps, rick cornado and my self on ramps, pat anderson on ground freestyle and the tubling gymnasts.
also show was followed up by team fasmont(motorcyle family doing the globe of death).wow great times. germany was THE highlight of my career. i later did 5 yrs of shows at seaworld (san diego) and two yrs
at disneylands(californias adventure park)anihiem. i was so blessed with fun times after i stoped competing.
i never liked competing.all the guys i had to compete against were truely my best friends.it just gave me
stomich pains to have to prove who was better.so i droped out to just enjoy doing school shows for the say no program.and entertain at amuzement parks.
i cant express to all of you how depressed ive been over the past few yrs.i lost all phone numbers n contact information to all freinds after house got robbed. they got all my bikes n most my memberabilia.
so any pics n videos to just reliving the good old days on posts here means alot.i can download pics to my new labtop n would charish them.thx
also just wanted to say im touched by guys saying such nice things about me. i had no idea anyone even
remembered me.
like i said ive been thru some hard times and you guys probley saved my life.it was that bad.
im on road to recovery with familys help.but this burst of memories n suport means the world to me.
thx,ric

In a world fraught with bad news, it's always good to hear someone is still alive, especially when you thought they had died. It just makes things a little brighter somehow.

That's sweet! I remember a show the Mongoose Team did at Hank & Frank in Oakland. It was the first time I seen a firehydrant live. Ric and Karl were busting them out all day. I learned them that day. I still have the Mongoose Sticker that Ric autographed for me. Good Times! Ric is awesome.

Some big tricks I remember you pulling Rick:
Tweaked windsurfer...
Insane Miami Hopper variations...
That handstand thing where you always looked on the verge of going over the bars...
The surfer where you'd make it look like you were pulling a rope...

Ric,
Glad to see ya online and it's been 20 years since we last rode together down at Newport Beach.
Here are some shots from the '87 Velodrome AFA contest including the Scorpion press.

Marty Schlesinger and I grew up in Minnesota and we transplanted to Cali. We've moved around a bit but we are both shreddin' still!
Great to see ya online!
