Okay, heres the deal. I'm in charge of producing a sports-oriented Show for the worlds 2nd largest Christian TV Network. We've had people like Herschal Walker, Avery Johnson, Art Monk, Ted "The Million Dollar Man" Dibiasse, Josh Hamilton, Rocket Ismail, and others on our show. I'm trying to put together an episode with some "extreme" sports athletes. I know Christian Hosoi is a Devout Christian nowadays & we're trying to get him on, but I'd also like to bring in a Freestlye Legend (if there is one) who would talk about his career and faith as well. So here's my question, are any of the old school Pro's Christians?
Here is the one-sheet for our show:

I think read somewhere that Dirt Brothers legend Vic Murphy has done stuff like that. Maybe video maker Eddie Roman would have some other contacts as well--I remember Head First or Ride On having some Christian messages. You might also want to contact The Bridge bikepark in Joplin, MO for leads.

No idea, but this is awesome. I'd love to find out which ones are Christian myself.

Cant think of anyone that was outspoken about it. Maybe Stompin Stu? New schooler
Seth Kimbrough (hoffman bikes) hope that helps

I don't remember what it was called but Head (from Korn) and Steven Baldwin did a christian skate tour. I'm not sure if BMX was involved though. I know Hasoi was on the tour. Maybe that might be worth looking into?

Eddie Roman would be a good guy to interview regarding his faith and oldschool roots.

Thanks Jeff, I wasn' aware that Eddie Roman was a Christian. Thanks.
Good Point Choad, I forgot about Baldwin's group. met him a couple of times so we should have some contact info for him. Heads been by our studios a couple of times, but I personally haven't met him. Heard he was a nice guy though.

Don't know about any old schoolers, but Kimbrough and Bruce Crisman would be good depending on the age of your audience.

I know that Eddie Roman and Vic Murphy are absolutely 100% christian, aren't shy about it and get involved in lots of outreach type programs.
Vic is part of
Action Sports Outreach. A group of "extreme athletes" that tour different countries spreading Christianity and gettin' rad.

I don't know if Eddie is from the right era for what you need but man, he's got some serious stories to tell about doing missionary work in Sudan (many trips) and even providing relief efforts at ground zero as well as helping sift through the rubble on a conveyor belt to help find remains.
If the subject is BMX and Christianity, I can't imagine a better guy to profile than Eddie.

Eddie and Todd have my vote, for new school, Coco Zurita makes it a point to attend church every Sunday, infact he just told me that he even got Corey Nasty to go with him.

Thanks a lot guys. Hosoi has been on our list for a couple of months..trying to get him here. He's an Associate Pastor at his church now. I didn't know Cab was a Christian. Heard that Mullen was, so I've got a message in to him through his myspace to confirm. Todd Anderson? thats a name I haven't heard in a while. I'll definitely check in to all your suggestions. We're definitely skewing a little older with the audience..like 20's to 40's. We don't skew as old as the other Networks, so we can probably pull this off. Thanks again.
