This is the Restoration Forum, so let's see them!!!
Here's mine. A 1983 Redline 600a (Series Three). This is a build I've wanted to do for a long time... 17 yrs to be exact. That's when I found out that my brother "lent" my 600a to his girlfriend's brother. Needless to say, by the time I found out they had been broken up for years and I never saw it again.
So I've looked on ebay now and then over the years hoping to find something to restore. Surprisingly, I didn't see much over the years, but about a month and a half ago I saw one in pretty good shape, so I picked it up for $180 shipped and decided to build it up as close to the way I had it back in 1983 as I could! Here's what I've done in the last month and a half...

Nice... I love the blue ano and the Profile cranks are making me drool...

Not exactly a vintage bike, but it has special meaning to me as it was my first race bike.

1990 Mongoose Solution Pro (chromoly)

My plans are to have the frame re-powder coated the factory blue. Unfortunately I'm going to have to make my own frame decals since they are not available anywhere. I'm going to put it together with the old school 3 piece mongoose cranks, mongoose platform pedals, (If I can find them) Araya 32 spoke RB17's, DK pro kneck, and I'm undecided between bars...it's gonna be Elf Blast bars, Mongoose bars, or the powerlite bars. To top it off I still have a set of Pit Bull brakes and a Zero-nine race plate smile.gif

With the exception of the mongoose cranks(because I had Redline flites), this would be exactly how I had it set up back in the 90's

It's gonna take me a little while, but I will post my progress along the way

Thanks, I've sold all 4 bikes in the one photo, even the Quad. But it was more fun for me to build them then collect them. The one I miss the most is the DG a good friend of mine now has it and one of these days I will get it back. I have 2-3 I am working on now but they are the going to take a while because the parts have been hard to find. 80 Looptail Quad and 82 Floval . Well Some Day I will be done them and post photo's. sun_bespectacled.gif

Son, whatever "It" is, you certainly have it.

Profile sticker adds quite a lot. I would vote for it in a show. To see where it came from is most especially impressive.

Great work Raceit.
Lonewolf
Just curious, but how much would you take for it?

Lonewolf,
After taking years to FIND one for sale (that I could actually afford, you saw the previous condition of it, and it still wasn't cheap)
and considering the sentimental value of it...

How about the equivelent of all my debt and my son's college tuition!

Man, I would seriously have to be in a bind to even consider a CRAZY high offer.

But I know you were just joking...

Thanks for the compliments, coming from this site it means a lot to me, but it would not have bothered me if it got slammed because she is how I wanted it.

I have a couple other gooses to work on and share pics later.

Thanks again!!!

raceit, did you uuse all original parts?can you give a breakdown?
raceit
The only original parts I found were the Frame, fork, wheels, stem (mogoose gold stem), headset and bottom bracket.
I had started a restoration in the 90's and it sat in my parents attic till Katrina hit.
The wheels, stem, headset and bottom bracket are being used on another Mongoose build in the near future.
I didn't do an "era correct" restoration because I don't have that kind of money and patience for such an endevor.
Besides, there are numerous "correct" ones out there. I wanted this one "my way" and something I wasn't afraid to ride and one day hand down to my son.

To answer your question, NO, not even close...
