Just read this on the FBM site. Hook it up Chad!! I would LOVE to see this become a reality. A modern day Crusader made by FBM? C'mon! It doesn't get better than that!

"I had a dream we were making a replica "Crusader" frame for legendary step-up ninja Chad Herrington. That would be crazy.

It is not a dream! It's true!!! laugh.gif I placed the order for my "new school" Crusader about a week ago. Really only the front triangle will look like the Crusader with the 3 tubes. It will have modern, short and tight geometery. I should be riding it some time in December. Of coaurse I will post picture links when it arrives. It will be coooooool to be back on my own bike again. happy.gif

That's cool Chad - and glad to see you so stoked. But refresh my memory: I thought your Crusader was made of Aluminum? Or maybe that was an experimental version that I am remembering?

The first prototype Crusader was titanium, the second prototype was aluminum, the production run was all aluminum. The "new school" frame, made at fbm, is chromoly and their super therm chromoly tubing! All modern geometry, short and tight angles. Hopefully will have it by the end of next week. Just missed the shipping time for today and they're out until Monday. I'll post links when It's put together! sun_bespectacled.gif

Sorry. Should have had it done. It rained from 2am - 10pm on Monday! Too wet and cold to paint the frame. Just finally finished the paint and started the build and can't remove my cranks from my old frame.... Will have to wait until tomorrow and have the shop remove them so I can finish the build. If all goes well I will post pictures tomorrow. Thanks every one!!!

Hey 3rd! The frame cost me $550 from FBM. If you want one I'm sure you could order one with your own custom specs! Let me know and I'll tell the guys at FBM that it's cool! Takes 6-8 weeks.
Here are a few pictures of the finished build! Took me long enough. I'm going to switch to a 25 tooth sprocket, to try and shrink the wheel base, and a smaller front tire. Other than that, this is how I'll ride it. Was going to be riding it in a show tomorrow but it's rained out and rescheduled for next week. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2013...p;id=1256913623

Thanks! I wanted to do something unique. I guess this would be considered my blue period. The weight, as the bike sits now, is about 20lbs 14oz

p.s. Mike, If you still want the mtb frame, make me an offer.

Cool Man. Let me know when you're ready to order one!

Switched the blue 28 to a gold 25 sprocky balboa. It shortened the wheel base an extra 1/8" after taking out 2 chain links. Doesn't seem like much but it feels like it manuals better now. Bikes all dialed and ready to ride............... and it's been raining since I woke up and is supossed to rain through Monday!!!! dry.gif

I did get my hearing back........ but lost 3 toes due to frost bite!!!!! The fumes from the tiny gas heater, that kept falling over and almost catching fire, caused some brain damage also!!!!!
Driving from So Cal to OKC and back, in the back of the SE racing box van during winter..... PRICELESS!!!!!! Road trip anyone? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

It's so cool that companies are offering custom frames to our own specs! cool.gif With over 15 years, riding bikes for numerous companies, including my own, this is the only perfectly straight frame I've ever owned!!!! I personally can't see ever riding a stock frame again!!!!!! laugh.gif
