i found these abandoned trails a couple of months ago. decided to cancel the gym membership and buy some shovels and a few bags of cement. still got a ways to go, but every weekend i put something new in. lines are long and not to big, smooth as a driveway and fast when it dont rain. somewhere in N.C. --- S.O.S. trails sun_bespectacled.gif

i prayed long and hard for a place to ride. i prayed to the "SONS OF THE SOIL" hince the name "S.O.S. trails." to call upon them simply grab a handful of dirt, say a few words of praise, give thanks, ask for help, and pitch the soil into the wind. the rest is just a waiting game, and a little luck. when they answer be prepared to work for them as they expect blood, sweat, and a kink in your back as payment for thier services. it will be worth it, i promise...then so shall you become a loyal servant as well.
turns out i am the only one who really rides the trails. the kids around dont/cant ride, they just hit the little stuff and go home.

that is rad you found the spot and that you are psyched on dirt.

but, you might want to ask around and find out who built the trails and try to talk to them.

did that...the people who built the trails went into the army 4 yrs ago, and for lack of better words, "protect thier land, and ours". the true solders and sevants of S.O.S. im sure the love for bmx will never leave them, and im sure they would be stoked to come back from ??? and see their old spot reborn. i meet one of the kids little brother who built the trails a couple of weeks ago. cool kid that rides mx. hits all the little stuff that he can. dont mind that he rides, but hes got a younger brother that rides a little 50cc that love to do doughnuts in between the flats of the jumps. its ok, i guess, cause i threw down a bag of cement in between each jump allong with coating the lips and landings too. he just kicks up dust, plus its just a little kid and his bro built it 1st.
those guys were the generation after me of "SONS OF THE SOIL". as i rode 10 years ago i made a pack with S.O.S. to never give up my love for bmx. as soon as i showed my love to ride they did as well. was it fate or S.O.S. ???

dont get to ride the trails every day and im the only one who rides there. did it on my last trails and it worked so... its a sort of winterizing effect. even when wet, not soaked, the lines stay ridable and the lips dont rut up/out, keeps the turns/straights smooth and fast. (you only have to pack it once and it makes the ground rock hard like cement all year long).

finally...got to shovel a ton of dirt, push back a double a few feet, put in a new four pack, and rebuilt the longest of the doubles in the set. after all the work i rode for 2 hours and busted my first flat table in 10 years. did it again 3 times just to make sure....stoked : D sun_bespectacled.gif
