Mike it is Right across the Street from the Main Ent to the Fairgrounds, you could ride a bike to the Christmas Classic, it would be Cold but you could do it, as always call me if you need anything if you are coming to Louisville for the Christmas Classic
D-C
yep- accross the street
it is the host hotel for the nbl- according to the add in the B-T there is a free shuttle to the arena

bmxmom156

D-C
$ 79 in the B-T
irodetoday
Just booked through BT @ 79 per night.
Then read this thread....42 per night on priceline!?!
Checked priceline 2 minutes ago.....99 per night!?!

What up.
D-C
you have to go to "name your own price" and bid
bmxmom156
i started to do that but it says it gives you a hotel but you arent allowed to decline or choose one, you just get what they give you?

how does this work..they take your credit card info before you choose so once its done i guess its done..

can someone explain how this whole process works for those of us who have never used it? i know you cannot cancel it once its done its charged toyour credit card but how do they know what hotel you want. all i saw is you can pick the type of "star" hotel like it suggests 3star for best rate.. but then how does it know you want to stay in crowne plaza?

I believe you can buy insurance for $5.00 that will allow you to change or decline.

I went with the $79 NBL rate.
3 kids (under 8) and a wifey.....I just gotta know what I'm gettin'
D-C
you don't have control......thats why I go 3 stars and start low. If you get it cheap you did good, if they decline you are not charged
usually if the price goes higher than a steal, I will just go with the pick it yourself option and pay full boat
sack
They will lure you in with cheap room rates and get you with the food prices. I had a 12 dollar cheeseburger there during the Street Rod Nationals.

Family of 5 heading to the Classic. The 2 queen suite is listed for $190 is on the Crowne Plaza web site, so we tried calling to get the NBL rate. NBL rate was quoted to me for $387 per night! no thanks, we will just get seperate rooms.
Ponch
Try checking the Hilton listed in the BT, its actually a little closer and has more restaurants around it.
FNSRACING
We are at the plaza 79 a night

Anyone know about the Ramada located at 2912 Crittenden dr.???

Looks like it is alot closer to Broadbent Arena just outside gate 3.

$63.99 a night before taxes
Ponch
Almost any hotel located on Crittenden drive was built in the last few years or so. Not sure if they have a airport shuttle like the Crown Plaza does.
bmx-dad
It says in the bt the national race is on monday and tuesday? presidents cup sunday. is there any thing going on saturday?
Ponch
Saturday is all practice day from what I remember.

Also drove down Crittenden drive earlier today, The Ramada inn is newer but pretty small. Their is also a Country INN and suites, Holiday Inn, and Hilton Garden Inn & suites. Those three look really nice and are very new. The restaurants aren't as many as I thought. Cracker Barrell, Burger King, Arbys, and maybe a couple of others I didn't notice.

If it was me traveling to this race I would stay at the Hilton. Broadbent arena is almost directly behind it and the entrance gate to the fairgrounds is right beside the Hotel.

When booking a room, 1st rule is tell them only 1 adult. Then request 2 beds instead of 1 bed.
Most of the hotels will charge you per person. I worked at hotel and we charged 69.00 base rate. Then 10 bucks for each additional. Didn't charge the kids, but some hotels will charge kids.

It's none of hotel's business who I bring, so I just say it's just me. Then I will ask for first floor, near door. This is cuz I have 5 kids too. They are still little, but if I get 2nd or 3rd floor, I have to tell them shut up and don't jump on the bed like a tramp.

I inform them I need a handicap room, cuz they are usually larger in size. I take sleeping bag and let kids roll on the floor, while wife and I get the bed! yeah.

Just for example, Morristown this year...I got 39.95 room, king and a sofa. All 5 kids and both wife and I.
I stayed at Akron OH for free...someone walked in while I was cleaning the bike. I was in my undies. I told the front desk, and they comped my room.
If you gonna pay, you should always get a good service. I don't care if you are at Super 8, Days Inn, or any other hotels.

Call them back and tell them you are the ONLY person that's traveling!

Went on Priceline yesterday and picked up $50/night room at downtown Hyatt With taxes and fees I think the final price was $63/night.

Crowne Plaza just sent us their menu for a $12 nightly dinner buffet. It looked Ok, and assuming that it is " all you can eat", we will be carbo loading evey night.

No hotel is connected to Broadbent arena. But you can see it from the parking lot. About a 1-2 minute drive to the track.
