I voted for Scottbronxton. It was close between his and SACk's because they were both bikes that _I_ would ride/race. Which is what was the final determining factor for my vote.
I'd like to write in a vote for superjeer's design. It's the best and it should be done and shipped out ASAP!

A chromed out Thruster Tri-Bar 26" with that wicked rear end.
22" Top Tube.
Euro Bottom Bracket
Angled for racing. Oh yeah, I'm dumb enough to put this baby on the track!
Short rear tri.
V-brakes
SBC stamped in the dropouts and faux brake bridge
Short BB height. (Long seat tube, I think.) I need a lot of leg room.
Did I mention all chromed out?
Plus, 1.5 hole chrome forks to go with this awesome frame-SBC stamped, of course.
Can anyone say "Rockford 2010?"
I'll try to post drawings later tonight but you get the idea. I already have several unassembled retro cruiser parts and, of course, a head full of ideas to complete this project!

Cheers, thats made my day, thanks.
just to remind allof my idea -

My dream O/S influenced ride would be a Hutch backend(with smaller thicker dropouts) with a 250s (copied 250 angles + tubes - no need to re-invent the wheel) frontend 21" toptube - or maybe 21.5". Mid BB + int headset
Mostly for trails & parks - guess you could do a lighter version for race.

IT WAS TOUGH TO CHOOSE, BUT..........
Winning design was chosen based on originality, the design’s feasibility to go from sketch to steel, and the production CAPABILITIES of Standard Byke Co.'s shop... CAD was not needed, but very cool to see.. and since this is VINTAGEBMX it was neat to pick some Vintage inspired bikes.....

QUOTE (DanThrift @ Aug 18 2009, 09:21 AM)

My dream frame is a 70's retro inspired, chromoly race frame with new school (125R) geometry. WARNING: If you build my frame, a big fat guy is gonna ride like a rented mule. I see it as a 20" but it could fly as a 24". To me 70's means very big gussetts. I'm thinking like Mongoose Motomag but instead of just a round hole, the Standard "S" logo. American bottom bracket for flat black, one piece (Ashtabula) cranks. I'm not too picky on how the rear triangle is laid out but it's gotta have a coaster brake mount. Old fashioned type on the chainstay. No v-brake or 990 mounts. I think a plate style (caliper) brake bridge with the script "Standard" logo ingraved in it would be really cool. I plan on Tuffs with a coaster brake so the brake bridge is just in case.
You said to "dream big" so here's the big part. Ashtabula style, flat blade fork with 1 1/8 threadless steerer. I don't even know if that's possible, especially for a big guy. If anybody can do it, you guys have got to be it. If the fork doesn't fly a flat black tubular fork will work too.
A good 70's retro color is a glossy pumpkin orange for the frame and flat black for the fork.
That's about it. Thanks for a great opportunity. It's really great to see what everyone else is intersted in.
Thanks, Dan

If I win, (It's a longshot, I know.) I'll build it, bring it Rockford and we can all take turns doin' crazy stuff on it. Cool bikes should be ridden and enjoyed by as many as possible.
