Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, I have a stock 2009 complete PK Ripper looptail, which is White and red. I need some advice.
I want to put some tuff wheels on, but can't decide if I should go with the red or white ones? I'm not even sure if the red tuff II's are the right shade of red to match? Has anyone seen one with red tuffs? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also mine came with bent handle bars (the center tube is crooked, but it feels even and does not affect the driveability) Should I replace them with white or red bars?

Thanks,

Jonathon

P.S. Capt Nemo, your bikes are Sweeeet! My personal favorites: 2009 PK that is gray and red, the 2008 black one with the orange rims and of course the 1983 orange one.

Debated over this for a while myself. And I decided that white was the right TUFF wheel color to use.

Here are a couple pics to help you decide. And if you decide to go with red, order them soon from coloredtuffs.com because red is limited production and they're now taking pre-orders for Oct. 7 arrived. Quanities are limited. (I sound like a coloredtuffs.com advertisement, but I assure you I am not)

Red wheels: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/se_racing/1449 (Though this looks a little orangey, you get the idea)

I like the white look myself. And my 5 year old son concurred. It'll be his bike in a few years, so we went with white. wink.gif

For bars, I'm going to use white Crupi pro bars. Personal preference only. And since I'm doing the build from the ground up, I can do whatever I want. smile.gif

I would go with the white, with the red tires setting off nicely against them.

Or...

I do like the idea of red tuffs, but that bike already has a few different shades of red going on, and the Tuffs will just add another. If that doesn't bother you, it could be a different way to go.

Whatever you decide, make sure you post it up when you are done!

Red Tuffs with black Tioga gumwall comp III reissues and ultra light tubes is what I would do. Keep the original wheelset.

And I'd go back to the bike shop and ask for a replacement set of chrome bars if they sold you a damaged bike.

Gray looks pretty tough. From Garage Magazine:
