Need advice on what chain type / brand, etc. most are using for their old school builds. I am in the finishing stages of my 81 Supergoose build / restoration but have changed a few things from its original stock state (Im the orginal owner) to reflect how I would have liked to have had it when I was young but couldnt afford to:

Changes / Modifications: Had the orginal blue anodized rims re-anoed and added NOS chrome/blue ano Bullseye hubs with gold alloy nipples.
Installed a set of early Redline 401 Flight cranks with a gold NOS Sugino 44T chainwheel.

Now that Ive got it mostly back together Im noticing that the original chain from the goose just doesnt look right (worn, etc). Though I will keep it with the other original parts, for these types of builds what are most using for chains? A gold or silver one might look cool and set off what I have changed but am interested in opinions on what brand, color, etc. might look best and reflect the period correctness of what I have done. Thanks for your comments.

Izumi, Sedisport, regina, HKK, were all around then and good top notch chains. You will need a 96 link usually for a 44-16 combo- with links to spare. Different color combos on all.
